hey fellas, I am looking into a blower for the front of my 1880..I started with the Rolls Royce version all hydro....and I was wondering if anyone on the board has the same setup?

I was quoted around $6200 without my state tax. wondered how that sounded to anyone who has knowledge on the setup/situation....

thanks in advance!!!!

I just bought a BX1880 and got the Quick front hitch and the 50" BX2816 front snowblower for it. I stuck with the manual option for now as I want to see just how annoying the manual controls are. For the price of getting it fully hydraulic on the chute rotation and lift, I could buy myself a few other attachments that seem a lot more useful.

$6K seems like MSRP for the front blower, hitch, hydraulic lift and rotation and skid plates. I'm not sure if implement-only purchases usually get discounted list tractors....

$6038 on the kubota builder to add all that to a base model so you're getting a full MSRP quote.

Yeah, I kinda screwed up... I should have bought the blower and etc.... when I bought my tractor last year. but not a hell of lot I can do about it now.

I think it was $5k ish without the hydro hook ups...

I have the 50" front mount snow blower on my BX2360 with the manual chute rotation and manual deflector (which I've never once adjusted). No way I'd pay an extra $1k for the hydro adjustments. I'd use that dough for a brush hog or something else I wanted. Just my personal thoughts.

thanks for the info.... I am starting to think the same exact way as you are .... its actually closer to $2K for both hydro set ups... i just cant justify it... I can turn the screw by hand :D

I have a 2670 with cab so had to get hydraulic rotation, but i am constantly rotating my chute so feel that yes it is expensive option but well worth it. I couldn't stomach the cost of the hydraulic or electric option on the chute deflector, so left that out but did end up finding a preconfigured electric setup on ebay for about 160.00 and it works flawlessly.

Revisiting a old post..... I am still looking for a snowblower
I Got quotes from my local dealer and a dealer that had the best price on a BX23s that I was shopping for last year.

Both quoted full MSRP (although far away dealer said he could take maybe $100 off) Said kubota shrunk margins and raised its shipping to them.
Anyways.... Here is the new price
(BX2816) 50" FRONT SNOW BLOWER - $2062.00
(BX2810) 4-POINT FRONT HITCH - $721.00
(BX2811) K-CONNECT PTO SYSTEM FOR BX2810 PNF - $702.00
Total $3485.00 (a increase of $133.00)

(BX2818A) Hydraulic rotation is now $831.00 hand crank comes with the snow blower and this can be added at any time.

Looks like I will just bite the bullet..... before the next increase!!!

Ouch! Hurts more seeing prices alone when not wrapped up in a package deal :) I could never justify the hydraulic anything. I hardly even adjust chute angle but I'll be honest the rotation would be nice. I may do a DIY setup this year and see how it goes. I'd love to know the pre-configured setup someone above said they got for $160 and worked.

Just curious...does Kubota let you finance stand-alone implements that are this expensive?

After just my first winter with this blower I'm SO happy I never went the FEL and blade option. There's a 0% chance it would have worked for me given how heavy and wet the storms were this year and noticing that I'd have quickly run out of spaces to push snowbanks. A back blade would have been nice for those 1-2" storms, however....sometimes that huge 50" blower is hard to load up enough to throw properly with a small storm but I solved it but just putting the tractor into high speed and zipping along, scooping up enough to load the impeller.

Careful with the front hitch system. Theres a spring loaded mechanism with a thin release lever and if you pull it while holding it in the wrong place, you can crush (or lose, even) a finger easily:

I'm still in the 'design' part of the 'design/build' for the snowblower for my BX23S. There's NO way I can justify the $5K+ for a front mount PTO driven blower so I'm bodging 2 x 24" walkbehinds mtd on a SSQA 'frame' , powered by a 14HP OHV engine. direction and height of each unit will have electric actuators. I figure I'll have $500 in materials and when it gets cooler( 93*F today), I'll carry on with the project.
I need a 'selfpowered' SSQA unit cause I want the ability to choose bucket or blower.

I bought the manual control blower with my BX2370. Added electrical actuators to both chute rotation and height.

height is $35 linear actuator.

Rotation is surplus seat adjust motor.

Put a 4 way joystick on FEL control arm to control the chute.

I like the way you attached the motor shaft to the worm drive screw. did you just cut off the threaded shaft on the seat motor to the needed length?

thanks

I just bought a new BX1880 with 50 inch front mounted blower and a 48 inch back blade. Today we got over 20 Inches of snow and the BX1880 went through it like it wasn't there. Love this tractor and would highly recommend 👌

I just bought a Kubota BX1880. The front blower 50in and both electric chute cost 6,082 before tax. I live in upstate N.Y. in the lake efect zone. Already we had a 20in drop and the BX1880 and that blow worked great.

I kept my eye on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, and bought a used one in near perfect condition for 3 thousand even. I was able to purchase it because the original owner failed to lower the side shoes and was plowing a stone driveway, and was shearing pins. I have a tarred drive, and it works great. This is the time of year you may get one. I have the manual turning, and I get lots of snow in Western Maine. My tractor is also and 1880. You want to make sure you get the Quick Hitch that goes on the front with the blower..

I also did a linear actuator and a motor rotator I bought on Amazon. I enjoyed the build of a box with up/down and side/side DPDT switches all powered from an SAE plug I use to attach a battery maintainer. One winter later I’m happy and probably saved $2K with an afternoon’s design/build engineering session! See post #7 in the thread below
