Rolled my B7800 last night, now it will not turn-over... Thank God the ROPS was up! I came away with only a few scratches.

When I try to start it I get the click but it acts as if its seized. I doubt that the engine is damaged as I was able to shut it down within 30 SEC'S of flipping over.

I don't know if there is a mechanical safety that needs to be re-set after a roll-over...? I'll be pulling the glow-plugs this morning to see if I can get her to turn over.

Any assistance the forum can provide in trouble-shooting this would be greatly appreciated. I have a year left on the warranty, not sure it covers engine damage caused by a roll-over. My first choice is to fix it myself until it becomes clear I need to take it in.

Thanks in advance.

Glad to hear you are alright.
That could have been it.

Take any pics?
How log was the tractor rolled over?

I recall a story where this guy rolled his truck.
It was upside down for a good deal of time.
Once righted, he tried turning it over.
Bad idea.
Gas had filled the cylinders.while it was upside down.
Turning it over caused bent arms, and rods as the pistons could not handle the additional fuel in the cylinders.

I know you are supposed to let a bobcat sit for a full day if you roll one.
You may want to let it set as well.

CEP, Welcome to the forum. Sure glad you are safe.

Pulling the glow plugs is a good start. You need to make sure the cylinders are clear before you try to turn the engine over. Was it on it's side very long, ie, long enough that oil could have gotten into the cylinders? Is there a saftey switch that could have been damaged and not allow the start to kick in?

I have a friend who layed his tractor on its side. He pulled it back up and it started right up. Your's may be different, but I wouldn't think that it has anything that would have to be reset.

Re: Rolled my B7800 last night, now it will not turn-over...

I'm lucky... I saw it comming and timed my exit. I was towing 2k lbs of sand/stone in a trailer and lost traction going down hill (its mud season in NH). The trailer pushed the tractors back end around, causing a "jackknife", forcing the tractor on its side... no pic's. I got it righted in about an hour using my truck and a couple of chains.

Going out now to pull the glow-plugs to see if she will turn. With any luck it's a hydro-lock issue that I can cycle through with a few cranks. Still wondering if Kubota engines have a mechanical lock that engages during/after a roll-over event.

It was on its side for 30 sec before I could shut it off. It did started to burn oil so its safe to assume oil did get into the cylinder(s).

I checked all the PTO, 4WD and Trans levers... all are where they should be. I'll look a little closer as I pull the glow plugs.

Thx,
C.

Things to consider:

1. hydro-lock in cyls. (oil)
2. check the Batt for leakage and loose connections now
3. check engine to trans tunnel for cracks or slight misalignment in case a twist or bind occured on rollover or righting.
4 look at starter for connections or binding. (is there a way to hand turn in case starter stuck against flywheel? big crank nut maybe)
5. maybe change oil after an hr or two in case any sludge or junk dis-lodged during that time.

Just ideas, Kytim

BTW, glad you are OK!!!!

In the rock crawling/offroading world we call that a "flop", if you had rolled it the story would be much different right now. Glad you got out of there ok and I'm glad my yard is fairly flat.

Flop on a B2100... not good experience. Been there and done that.

Glad you made it out ok and the Bota runs!
