Can someone please tell me how the two buttons work on my third function valve? I'm installing my new third function valve and it has no operating instructions. it does have install instructions but no operating instructions.

Is one button for the power or one for forward and one for reverse?

Thank You
Todd

The answer to your question is yes. They control the solenoid on the spool valve for a double acting cylinder. How many wires run to the control knob?

Operating instructions for Kubota third function valves are included in the FEL operating manual.

After rereading your original post, I didn't fully answer your questions. Those buttons should be for forward and reverse.

I have the la1065 as well on my tractor. Only have the grapple to use with 3rd function. It’s open/close for the 2 buttons. So I’d say forward/reverse with post hole digger

I'm about 99% sure your trying to use the third function as a hydraulic motor control.
You got a SSQA hydraulic auger didn't you? ;)

Two major issues come into play:
1: The GPM Required to run the Motor, they usually require quite a bit
2: Constantly engaging of the third function Switch/ Solenoid will have it failing in no time at all, third function valves are meant for momentary use, not constant use.

What GPM does you post hole digger need? Probably somewhere in the range of 10 to 25GPM, your third function is probably in the range of 4GPM
Your tractor has only 9.5 max GPM total, and some of thats going to be lost in the system.

North Idaho Wolfman: Yes you are right it is a SSQA, The model that i have requires 6-15 GPM and has a Max pressure of 3000 psi.
