NAPA has House brand synthetic oil for $2.99 a quart...

This includes 15W-50, which is the Tuff Torq recommend viscosity for the K 46 transaxle (found in small lawn tractors), and Briggs Vanguard small engines..

https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NO_75510
Tuff Torq calls for 10W-30 or 5W-50 synthetic oil, not 15W-50 in their K46 transaxle. I have never seen any Tuff Torq products call for 15W-50 oil.

You are correct,

Tuff Torq used to recommend 10W-30 as the fill,
but has changed to 5W-50 full synthetic.

Most are still filled with 10W-30 from the factory...

5W-50 is unicorn tears, however, very tough to find.

15W-50 works, just give it a minute to warm up...
Walmart carries Mobil 1 jug for $22,

Or you can go Napa for $9.97 ($2.99 times 3)

Tuff Torq still to this day recommends 10W-30

Not all that hard.

Probably why they do not recommend it, you suppose?
