I cannot engage my mid-PTO on my Kubota B7510. The rear PTO easily engages and disengages, but pressing in the clutch and then trying to engage the mid-PTO is met with a lot of grinding.

Pressing the clutch with rear PTO engaged does not slow/stop the rear impeller.

The unit has been sitting for a season, and I'm not sure that the belly mower has been attached for years. I'm going to guess that the flywheel is stuck to the clutch plate, but I do not know if there is any good way of freeing up an HST clutch. This is my first time with an HST, so I would appreciate a little help as to what to try first.

Does pressing the clutch not stop the tractor from moving either?

I had a B7610, try to move PTO lever into mid setting with engine off. Then try it out.

Similar on my new BX23S, shut engine off, lever moves easy but running and it fights and grinds.

It's not uncommon to have metallic particles in the friction material of the clutch which can rust to the flywheel. I had this happen on a JD 750 before.

The preventative measure is to keep the clutch in the depressed position when storing. My two grand L's have a small linkage that makes it handy to do so.

So, folks, is the only solution at this point to split it open and replace the clutch plate and throw out in the process? I tried backing the tractor into a tree with the clutch engaged, but no help for the tractor or the tree.

Split it and change 4 parts out;
Clutch disk, Pressure plate, Throwout bearing, and Pilot bearing/bushing.

Im lost here, my B7610 "clutch" was only used to start the tractor, and engage PTOs. If the rear PTO works fine, its not the clutch...

In his first post he stated he can't stop the rear PTO from spinning when engaged, and he can't stop the tractor either, both those point to a stuck clutch disk. ;)

And your B7610 will stop if you press the clutch because there is no transfer of power to the HST unit.
Both the PTO and HST input share the same input shaft from the engine. ;)
