Finally got a dump trailer...14,000 derated to 10,000. I need to get some hydraulic work done...over my paygrade. Dealer is 120 miles away...and have been waiting to finally get a good way to tranport.

Your heavy on the tongue, that's the problem with dump trailers little to no room to get the distribution right.

I hope it's at least a 3/4 ton truck with a 2 1/2 solid receiver (not hollow) and a 2 5/16 ball?

Yes it is a 3/4 ton with 2 5/16 ball...solid receiver...

Thank you for the weight comment...I was testing the loading of it by doing some limited highway runs...I need to find a way to measure the tongue weight or get a way to determine were the best place to center the tractor...got any ideas?

Truck stop scale & u will know the weight. Pull in the scale, mash the button. Tell the fuel desk a name, trk & trailer number. Can make one up like number f250 or c2500 etc. go in pay for the scale ticket & u know what weight is on what axles. Re weighs same day are usually a dollar each. Scale platform will be divided for steer axle, drive axles and trailer axles. .... or if u know someone at a local business with truck scales that will give u the ok to use theirs, or a co op has scales sometimes that are public/pay

Just looking at the pictures, If you could move it back about a foot that should help you out tremendously.
Another option is if your not having the BH or even the loader worked on, pull them off, that would lighten you way up, and allow you to move it way back. ;)

Believe it or not, you can actually buy a trailer tongue scale or a tow ball scale. My brother bought one from Amazon. For the man who has everything.

I used my old bathroom scale to check the tongue when I was taking a load of scrap to the yard. 300# scale, 270# tongue weight with a 3000 gross trailer load. 10% seems to be about right.

Nice. Dump trailers are just so freaking handy. My plan is to pick one up and be able to use it for my tractor as well.

You can use a weigh station scale. Get the total weight then the weight as each axle comes off. Drop the trailer and weigh the rear truck axle. Do the math and voila. Not sure how you have a derated trailer though. 7K axles with 2500lb tires?

All the interest in trailing your tractor to and from the dealer or ANYWHERE else off your property it would be advantageous to look into this.... I recently found out a typical Home Owners Insurance will not cover your tractor and implements UNLESS there is a rider attached to your policy. I was told by an insurance broker the rider is called an Inland Marine Policy. I checked and it was way more expensive than Kubota insurance... Just throwing it out there for consideration... For a horror story look up the thread "My B2601 broke in half!". That's how I initially learned about Insurance and what cover my tractor..

Wow! That link makes you think! I'm lucky my Kubota dealer is only 15 miles from my house via back roads - I could literally drive my BX2660 there if I needed! The dealer offers a door to door pick up / drop off service. My brother in law works there and may cut me a deal...

^^^ im with these other guys...

you are definitely tongue heavy. always better to balance that load out.

drives my OCD into OT if my trailer isnt balanced good. try to aim for 10% ..

IF that isnt too much for your hitch rating.

good news is once you get it down for exactly where to put it in your trailer & your sway bar settings... it becomes real easy to lather, rinse, repeat.

im just taking for granted you have sway bars with that much weight behind you on a single axle truck.

Well, I finally got a tongue scale...and did the whole adjusting load to figure things out. Best place ended up being about 1150-1200 on the ball.

My research has lead me to get a WDH...setup rated for 1200. I went with a Equal I Zer 4 point anti sway hitch set up. I figured the 650 for the whole get up was worth the comfort of having the safest set up I could...
