Hello out there, I have an L2050 4wd. When under load and the motor heats up the tractor bogs down and stops. I just exchanged the air filter and it still bogs down. I will work on the fuel filter when the motor cools down. Question, can I put a shut off vavle on the hose from the fuel tank to the filter. Kubota forgot this when I bought the unit back in 1990. I hate draining the tank every time I need to change the filter. By the way, am I on the right track to fixing my problem?

Just clamp off the line before the fuel filter with a fuel-line clamp or small vice-grip. either that or be real quick! Many Kubota's are "missing" a fuel shutoff!

You can pinch it off or you can put an inline fuel shutoff in it, Personally I prefer to have a shutoff .Just make sure the shutoff is compatable with diesel fuel.

Thanks I will try pinching it off but the hose is rather thick. I will also have some different size nails to plug the hose end, and have a bucket ready if all else fails. Unfortunately I probably have about 6 gallons of fuel in the tank. (6 x $4.50 per gallon) Kubota screwed up on this, what were they thinking? By the way, do you think this will help my problem of bogging down?
