The steering on my GX2110 is erratic and very hard. We tried bleeding at the steering wheel. No luck. Tried bleeding at the steering cylinder. No luck. Any help out there? Also any help on the proper bleeding procedure?

Re: Gx2110 steering issues

It does not require bleeding.

What exactly do you mean by erratic?

Re: Gx2110 steering issues

Can you verify the model as Kubota does not list ever making a GX2110 or any GX.

Re: Gx2110 steering issues

I'll assume it's a GR2110.

When was the last time you changed the hydraulic filter and fluid?
Have you checked the level lately?
How does it move?
Does the deck raise and lower smoothly?
Is it always jerky, or more so after running it a while?

4 options off the top of my head
#1: Most likely, the steering controller is worn or damaged.
#2: Hydraulic pump issue
#3: Less likely but possible, if the deck is also jerky and or shutters as it's lifted, it could be a filter or fluid issue, it could be getting air sucked into the system.
#4: Much less likely, could be a cylinder internal issue, check for bent cylinder rods.

Re: Gx2110 steering issues

The oil is fresh in this unit we had a leak where the clutch mounts to the transaxle we pulled it apart and it sat for quite a while. The level is full and the tractor moves well. The deck is not on the unit right now, but when I hold onto the deck linkage it does lift erratically. When we pulled the clutch apart everything was working normally and now it isn't. I don't know if we need to change the oil filter on this unit or not. Is the system self-priming and is the system self bleeding? I'm really shaking my head on this because the clutch is working correctly and I don't know what else to do. Any help or advice would be appreciated

I would start by changing the filter.

The hydraulic pump appears to be attached to the HST top front.

Will do. Thanks. I was thinking about loosening the filter with the unit running to make sure I have pressure. What do you think? Good or bad idea. Is the HST the rear axle assembly?

Re: Gx2110 steering issues

If you have disconnected or upset any suction hoses/clamps etc., you could also have a suction leak allowing air into the system

Bad Idea, most Kubota systems are suction on the filter side of things.

Yes the HST is also part of the rear axle assembly on that model. :D

He'll make a big mess if he does as it appears to be pressure fed filter on the 2100 at least.

Loosened the filter made sure I had oil pressure and flow. It leaked a little bit but I found out that I had flow and pressure. Next I bled the system at the steering wheel. No luck. Then at the steering cylinder we pulled one hose off at a time until we had good flow and that fixed it. I appreciate all the input and good advice thanks a lot!
