B2650 with a LA534 loader.

Moved a bunch of wet topsoil yesterday, noticed that front tires were squirming pretty badly, especially when turning. I assumed pressure was low but I checked it this morning and it's 30 PSI which I would have thought would be adequate.

What are other folks running for front tire pressures?

Paul,

what are specs on outside of tire? Run it there - and see how it does, if you NOT going to do a lot of loader work.....might want to take it back out!

Grip is a little better on low side and shocks of bumps is better too!;)

85Hokie gives you very good advice.

Do you have a rear weight? If you have that much load on the FEL you have serious issues with stability. Keep the bucket very low. they roll over so fast you wont have time to react.

The danger arises because the front axle pivots and therefore provides no roll stability. The rear axle is where the roll stability comes from and with a full bucket and no rear weight you are on thin ice.

Had a 66" box blade on the back. Loader manual specifies 35psi max in front tires.

Going by deformation of the tires, that seems low.

I guess wet topsoil weighs more than I thought, but the loader didn't have any trouble at all picking it up.

I would suggest max rated air pressure of 35 psi if you are loading heavy stuff. It will put less stress on your power steering gear and tie rod ends. Also better on the tires too.

I run the max pressure the tire is rated at when doing loader work. Sorry my age addled brain can't remember specifically what that is, and I'm not near the tractor.

My guess is your BB does not weigh enough to properly ballast your loader.

My owner's manual did not distinguish between loader or none?

The type of tire should be noted?

The book calls for 20 psi, R-4 front, but sidewall marking was much higher, 35 maybe, don't recall.

Inflated per the manual. When delivered from the dealer, there was no reading on tire guage!!.

This would be correct. I have found that I need 750 lbs of ballast to do really heavy loader work with my B2650. I really doubt that box blade weighs close to that.
