Hi folks. I haven't posted in a long time.Back in Spring of 2016 I brought home from my Father-In-Law's little farm my 1980(81?) Kubota L185 2WD. I have owned this old girl since buying her from a local doctor friend in 2005 here in Bowling Green, KY. I had planned to repaint my tractor, and with a lot of advise from wonderful folks here, I located a new seat, ordered blue lower paint, and had great plans to repaint and display my tractor. Maybe drive it in a local parade or two also. I've been blessed with the chance to give my granddaughters many rides through the subdivision we now live in and have photos of them that will last my remaining lifetime. Good stuff.
The wind for the repainting and prettying up labor of love was taken from my sails though in August of 2016 when my beloved Father-in-law and Mother-in-Law were both murdered in their home at the same little farm just south of Morgantown, KY. My beloved wife Penny and I were the family members who found them when we couldn't raise them by phone the next day for our usual several times a day "whatcha doing" calls back and forth. Fast forward to recently and the man arrested for their murders remains in jail, and we attend frequent pre-trial hearings, and a trial date hasn't been set yet. We have a long way to go we are told.
After long back and forth I've told Penny and myself I really don't want to repaint my tractor any more. Physically, my spine has deteriorated and I have trouble even getting up and down on the ground to do even modest work.
I'm going to put my tractor up for sale here in the classified section. I want to say thanks to everyone here that offered guidance and help as I got started. Don.

I am so sorry for your loss and can’t even imagine the pain you’re feeling. I’m sure someone here will buy your tractor and give it a good home. God bless.

Tallbald, what a tragic situation. The wind may be out of your sails at the present, but at some point in the future a gust of wind will change that.

The tractor has been a bench mark of importance to you, your father-in-law and your grandchildren. You have it listed for sale, so that says you want to part with it at this point. I'd suggest setting it aside in a barn and forget about it until things settle down. Even though you physically don't want to get on and off the tractor it can still be a source of energy for you while working on it.

The memories you would have while working it would be more valuable than the funds in your bank account, and the healing ability of the work required would be soothing to you physically.

I say refuse all offers and when peace is with you your energy will be restored, your spirit will be alive and working on your tractor will bring you continued peace.

Keep your face towards the Son and all your shadows will fall behind you.

I'm very sorry for your loss, and what you are going through.
I would add that you can still fellowship with this community, even if you don't have a Kubota. This place is more about the people, than the tractor. If you find friendship, support, and solace here, then don't go.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. The decision to sell my little tractor came after lots of thought and consideration though. I've placed an ad for it on Craigslist regionally, and on a Facebook selling site. Just don't have the energy. Dad's gone as is the doctor I bought the little L185 from around the corner back in 2005. They were the folks I was going to show the old girl off to anyway.
I understand there may be some questions, so I'm posting a link to the local TV news spot on what happened to my in laws below. Almost 2 years old but still fresh in our minds. Thanks again. Don.
