FEL - Self leveling kit.

If you have a self leveling kit on your FEL what is your opinion of it and do you find that it was worth the money spent on it?

I have one on my 2650. I feel it is nothing special besides added insurance. Reason I got it is for in case someone else is running the machine so they don't have any issues. 2 years later i even forget the cost involved but still I know that if someone dropped a load of whatever all over the front of my machine I'd be upset.

It’s really nice if your handling material on a set of pallet forks or moving round bales of hay. That’s really the only time I use mine.

I just purchased a 2650 with the hydraulic self-leveling aka spill guard kit (tractor is still at dealer being configured!). It added $500 to my overall price.

As I understand it, to add the self leveling feature to my loader, the kit would be a completely new control valve for the tractor - is that correct?

I went from an M7040 without self leveling to a M9540 with self leveling. There is a 3rd cable going from the a lever in front of the joy stick to the valve. Not sure if it’s an add on to your current valve or a completely different valve.
