I always use Kubota filters, and oils for my maintenance work on my B3200, but when I saw $24.00 a gallon for pre mix Kubota anti freeze, I thought have re think this one. Curious on other opinions on this.

The antifreeze seems to be the one fluid that even us who are picky will stray from the brand. The most common answer seems to be 'any Name Brand' antifreeze that is green. Then you can decide between extended -life or not.

If you want to switch types, make sure you triple flush your system. Not all of these formulations play nice with each other. :)
Hmmmm......Now that a good thought, never thought of interaction with different brands and type...thanks for the head up !!! will be flushing

I vary from the oem coolant type in my (3) Kubotas mostly for the 5 year interval. My preference is also Zerex G05. There are other extended life options that are frequently mentioned here from Fleetguard and Prestone.

Before you decide antifreeze is antifreeze and use your car engine experience to guide you, please educate yourself on Cavitation Erosion in diesel engines.

Mar 13, 2015 - A diesel cylinder liner showing the effects of cavitation erosion. Cavitation erosion is often found in diesel engines on the exterior walls of wet cylinder liners. The amount of erosion and decay will vary from engine to engine and may also vary from cylinder to cylinder. Vertical strips or patches of decay often ...

I use the RED diesel long life coolant concentrate and distilled water from the store. I water flush on clean systems and if the engine or radiator is dirty, I use some citric acid crystals with water then run the engine for about 1 hour. Drain and flush well. Citric acid is what Mercedes Benz recommends for the diesels. It is very easy on the water pump seals, unlike the caustic stuff the auto parts store sells.
I find the cooling system capacity of what ever engine I am working on. I then HALF the cooling system capacity and put that amount of antifreeze concentrate into the cooling system. I then top it off with the distilled water. Unless you have a brand new DRY engine and radiator, there will always be some residual flush water left in the system. This doesn't hurt anything but if you pre-mix your coolant then pour it in, you have a chance at being less than 50/50.

I about had a heart attack when I priced out Kubota oil for my zero turn. Was just gonna grab some while I was there picking up filters. When the quoted me $24 a quart, I said never mind and swung by the auto parts store.

Just 30wt Kubota oil. I bought fell over when I saw the price. I first thought they mislabeled the price on the quarts. Parts guy confirmed the price, so I told him to keep them.

Diesel compatible, has nitrites to prevent cavitation...
Kubota's are Dry liner engines and not subject to cavitation. ;)

So the simple ordinary cheap green antifreeze works just as good as the expensive stuff! :D

I've been running Polar brand that my fuel supplier sells without any issues. Just bought a 6 gal case the other day of their ELC for $45.

Remember, keep your overfow tank filled to the “hot” line
when your engine is cold...
Air is the enemy...

My Dad blew a hose in his car, under recall, so I let Chevy fix it, for free...
When I checked the overflow tank afterwords, it was to the bottom line, and 45% antifreeze.
Took nearly a quart of full strength to fill it to the top line...
