Ducatis are Sex on 2 wheels. I have owned my fair share of Sport Bikes in the past. Never a DUC though. I remember when the valves had to be adjusted every 1500 miles. That was a big contributing factor to me never owning one. Although I hear that the adjustment periods are now right around 7500 miles. Thumbs up to that. I now ride a Victory Highball. In the market to add to the stable though as my wife really wants to be more comfortable and she also wants to ride more. I am leaning towards the Road Glide Ultra, although I did see the new Yamaha Venture yesterday. Drooooool...

Skeets - been around a few over the years, but never owned or ridden one.

Like RLinNH said, they are a little funky. One thing I seem to remember is one had a crazy-sounding clutch.

Guy that owned it was an experienced auto mechanic. It was his baby, and he rode it HARD...he said that's how they sound...

The desmo motors have a sound all their own, like a menacing "growl" that you can pick out coming down the road. The rattle from the dry clutches is just part of the unique company image.
Wouldn't mind owning one... but would be tough to give up the ST1100 as an everyday rider.
