well it all went great aside from rain! But what are you to do with one day off during the week. The trailer was fine and not over loaded at all. Even with the rain i managed to test it out some and put a solid hour on it. I love this little thing!

Helpful tip.... You should always cross your straps over. Right strap on the tractor ties over to the left of your trailer, etc. The higher the mounting points on the tractor the more important that becomes. You'd be surprised how much even a little side-to-side play can shift the weight of a load.

Rent a tandem axle trailer or flatbed car hauler if you need to move it infrequently.

A good trailer will run you $3K. A rental might run $50 per day.

I never liked the single axle I had because it was all but imposable to get the correct tongue weight.

People do crazy stuff all the time and get by with it to a point I guess. One of the last trips to the stockyard I made I had a Dodge caravan pass me going about 80 with a BX25D on a single axle trailer.

Here in BC most single axle trailers with a utility license plate are registered for a maximum GVW of 1440kg and are built with a single 3500lb rated axle. That's not enough for most small tractors - highly recommend a double axle trailer. Also, as others pointed out it is harder to get the weight placement figured out for safe towing.

The OP's tractor is listed as 1443lbs. Add a thousand for the trailer itself and, say, 600 for the FEL and another 300 for a counterweight and he should still be within the axle's rating. Don't forget, 10% of the total weight is on the tow vehicle, not the trailer axle if it's balanced correctly.

If he's using it commercially and trailering it regularly, then perhaps a bigger trailer would be in order. But if he's just running it back and forth between dealer and home two or three times a year for service, he should be just fine.

“OVERKILL IS UNDER RATED” I would worry so much about using a single axle trailer to tow my tractor. Peace of mind, using a dual axle trailer with brakes and load stabilizer, are worth far more than money saved on an inexpensive trailer.
I also would feel guilty for life if I caused an accident towing with a barely adequate trailer.

I have towed my BX25D on both tandem axle trailers and single, it is much nicer on the tandem but similar to you when I brought home my tractor from the dealer I used my single axle landscape trailer and it was a 1hr + long ride, I have moved it again with the single very short distances but anything long I get/borrow the proper trailer, also when loading and un loading make sure to place jack stands on the rear of the trailer, especially the single axle one.

18' tandem with brakes for my BX. As stated earlier 'overkill is under rated'. I have plenty of deck to work with and it tows well behind my 1/2ton Silverado

I tried running my B2650 with a blade and FEL on a 5 x 10 and I'll never attempt that again. My other option is a steel decked dual axle trailer with dual axle brakes. Sure it takes more to get it out and up and loaded, but I like the piece of mind.

My B2920 with a 4-foot flail mower on a 20' trailer rated at 16.5k GVWR behind my 2017 F-350 dually rated to pull 31k...

Lol. There was a chain on each end too but those were taken off and I snapped a pic before yanking that last strap.

I haul larger tractors on that trailer, too...my MX4800 frequents that trailer along with a 6-foot flail mower.

Several times over the last 10 years or so, living near a junction of two major interstates like I do, I have seen a heavy equipment low boy trailer, obviously deadheading back from his last heavy haul, with a Tonka Toy type loader, maybe 24" long at best, lashed down to the bed! I'm sure he makes the Port of Entry people's days when he rolls over the scales, plus little kids as he drives down the road. He probably isn't the only trucker who has thought of the idea, but it sure cracked me up.

I'm just under 6K#'s. My F150 Ecoboost doesn't even know it's back there.

If you're F150 doesn't know the trailer is back there, something is drastically wrong with the vehicle electronics/software!

You'll get a LOT of naysayers here, but I haul my BX on a very similar trailer to yours all of the time. If you are going real long distances at interstate speeds on a regular basis, I would probably opt for a tandem too, but for semi occasional use, I wouldn't think twice about the single. Also, your tractor shouldn't weigh anywhere close to 3400 LBS. I couldn't find a spec for the 80 series loaders, but the tractor and 60" mower is only about 1700 LBS.

I got a 7000gvw PJ trailer, dual braked axle with beaver tail. My B2650 with BH77 backhoe and L534A FEL weighs about 3500 lbs altogether, and the trailer weighs about 1800 lbs, so towing weight is about 5300 lbs. I back on to the trailer and put the loader down flat to the deck with lead edge just touching the rearmost deck angle rail (where the ramps hook). Balances the load perfect.

My 2006 4wd Tacoma X-cab hauls it no problem.

I find the beaver tail to be quite handy when I trailer the tractor with my front mount snow blower attached, as the blower only raises about a foot fully raised and would drag on the trailer deck while loading without the beaver-tail.
