16 hours on tractor and already sick of the black stain on loader and front tie rod, a little 1 3/4" pipe and some welding and this is what i came up with.

I like the idea, my old L1500 came with the upright exhaust and
I always wondered about how the bottom exhaust systems worked
out seeing the exhaust coming out of mine.
Are you concerned with engine vibration and a solid mount
to the tractor?

dont think it will be a problem, there is a bit of flex in the elbow and horizontal part, plus motor is solid mounted, loader frame is bolted to engine block, there for they kinda all move together.
Nice bit of work. Just be sure that the stack is taller than your head when you are in the seat. You don't want to be working downwind of it on a heavy day. Ask me how I know....
its a few inches below the ROPS and well over head, went with the smaller pipe to keep velocity up and blow it away, ran it all day Sunday and never once smelled exhaust running loader and backhoe.

That is a cool mod.
My Iseki has a vertical stack, and rarely has the exhaust been a nuisance.
Wonder if doing this mod on an L3301 w/ DPF would cause any issues during REGEN. Using larger pipe might be in order.

Yea, you having an emissions based model I would advise you to avoid this mod like the plague!

Yea, seeing that you have an emissions based model, my advice would be to avoid this kind of mod like the plague!
The op's reason was to avoid the exhaust stains on nearby parts, but the tractors with dpf don't do that, so no point in moving the exhaust. And then there is the reason that NIW mentioned. The exhaust is REALLY hot during a regen. Bad idea to mess with any part of that system..

For the most part this is true,but north of 300 hours the loader on my B3350 is definitely stained by the exhaust.It could be from the heat of the regens or from the raw diesel fuel that you can smell sometimes during the regens but it is stained.The paint on the shield at the end of the exhaust pipe has been cooked off for a long time now.As sensitive as these DPF systems are I wouldn't consider any kind of modification whatsoever either.
When I got my used 8hrs B2601 the exhaust was one of the first things I modified. Copied someone else's idea on the forum and added a small turndown pipe. Keeps exhaust off the front attachments and less then $5.00.
Good point Les, I shouldn't extrapolate from an n of 1! My 3560 has an entirely different regen system and engine type from the 3350s, There is a big difference in the exhaust of the l3560 (dpf) and the B2650 (no dpf). The 2650 has exhaust marks on the front axle 100 hrs, and the 3560 does not at 300 hrs. Assumed it was generally true, but the B3350 has a way more complicated and frequent regen. In any case not a good idea to mess with routing.
you will still get ash stains, not black like diesel soot but a white grey ash that takes up moisture and turns grey brown over time. next time your on the interstate look for a newer semi truck, look inside the stack outlet and around the sides where the moisture runs down, thats kinda the same thing your seeing on your loader. I went to a new Manitowoc MLC-300 last week that has DPF and DOC/DEF, the whole back corner where the exhaust comes out next to the counterweight track frame was covered in a grey white ash film, looked horrible!!!! I will try and get a picture of it next time I see it again.
Funny, everyone has different views I guess. When I moved up from a B7100 to a L2501 a month or so ago, I was thrilled with the exhaust location and haven't noticed any black areas on the loader. I would be worried about tree branches hitting the vertical pipe, but nice fabrication.
for me personally its no big deal, im used to running equipment with mirrors, stacks, glass and other crap to get torn off, I am good about clearing all my trails and limbing trees up to clear with no issues.

I am planning on doing this nearly exact mod in a few weeks. Have you had any issues with the exhaust getting to hot next to that plastic near the dash. Didn’t know if I should position the vertical exhaust a few inches more foreword.
