I have a new L45 backhoe with 53 hours on it ......My boom wont swing left or right....it started out moving very slow then not at all....all other hydrolics are working fine....could this be low fluid level???? I checked fluid level but its hard to tell how low it is (Fluid is so clear) it doesnt look like it is below the bottom line on the dipstick..

First check the linkage of the boom swing arm lever, make sure it is not loose or out of adjustment somehow(funny things can happen on a factory mass assembly line). Could aslo be a stuck valve,pessure compensator,pressure regulator(should have factory paint markings on it) etc. The most common problem I encounter working on equipment (I am a mechanic in the construction industry) is bad piston seals, hyd fluid will bypass in the cylinder, at first slow movement then eventualy none. If it is new with only 53hrs it should be a warranty fix regardless.
Thanks guys.....It is under warranty, I was hoping it was something simple so I wouldnt have take it in for service....I think its a valve or something like you mentioned Firejunkie..... it was moving kinda slow....I havent used it in bout two weeks and this morn it wouldnt do squat

Did you have your back hoe off?? Make sure you have your directional valves pushed in for back hoe operation. This is what it will do if you do not have the valves pushed in all the way. I also have a L45 and know from experience.
Not saying you do just asking. Your directional valves are under the flip up cover on the back hoe.
Start real simple, is the trasport locking pin taken out of the bottom of the boom? Alot of times the locking pin wont allow the boom to move at all!
My uncle forgot to remove his transport pin and he went to move his boom and he managed to break and trash the bottom of the boom and blew a hyd line as well.

THIS IS MY FOLLOW UP.......Tailrotor you nailed it!!!!.....Seems my problem was one of the directional valve levers......I was clearing some brush and a limb or something pushed one of the DV levers halfway out.....Even the service dept had a hard time figuring it out
