Hauling wood with Grand L3830

3 weeks after the Thomas fire ran through our ranch here in Santa Paula Ca a 200 + year old Live Oak tree feel . I have all the small wood cut and stacked (4 cords ) now going to cut the big wood some as large as 40" in diameter. The tractor has been a big help . Took me 3 days to cut the small wood and dispose of the brush . I estimate it'll take another 8 days to cut and split the big wood probably another 8 cords retirement isn't for the weak. The photo is one of the 7 big limbs I have to work up.

That is a lot of wood in ONE tree! We don't grow them that big around here.

It's sad when old growth trees die but it's good you get the firewood. Hope you have a log splitter. I have split 3 cords of oak by hand over the last couple of weeks, being retired helps ease the pain

Yes we have a log splitter I cut my brother splits .

Thank God were done cutting and splitting fire wood 14 1/2 cords from one Big Oak tree. Very sad losing a tree of that size.
