I have a bx 2350. When in 4 wheel drive, when the tractor comes under load when plowing it starts to squeal. Almost like a dry u joint or shaft in the drive line. I have looked, cannot see anything obvious. The transmission fluid is full. Noise occurs both forward and reverse, am at a loss. Somebody give me some suggestions???

If it's like mine, part 270 is a plastic shield, and mine rubs on the shaft occasionally, usually at low speeds & sounds like a bad bearing. I would jack up the front so you can spin a wheel and check where the sound is coming from. Pat has been around these machines longer than me.

Part 270 no longer exists, lol. I got the tractor from my father. He could always fix the problem, but parts like that seldom made it back on. Lol.

You have a support bearing for the FWA shaft. This could be it?

Pat
I guess it is a matter of pulling it apart and replacing the bearing. Is there anything with those u joints that could cause that. Would it be worth while replacing them to when I have it apart?

It's up to you, if they feel like they are binding or even loose than yes.
How many hours are on the machine?

Is the front axle oil full? We had a number of BX2350's that came from the factory with very little or no oil in the front axle.

I think that will be the next move is to stop by our local Kubota and order the parts tomorrow. I know the u joints are pretty self explanatory, here is hoping the bearing turns out to be the same. Lol.

Turned out to be the first knuckle assy on the shaft that powers the 4 wd. Easy solution, thanks for your insight
