Introduction and LA525 loader question

Howdy all, I'm new to the forum...just bought a 2501 and I think I'll be happy with it. I'm in East Texas and only have 6 acres, I'll use my new toy mostly for garden tilling and FEL dirt work. I'm sure it won't see a lot of use, but i'm 52 and getting tired of doing everything with a 4-wheeler, trailer and shovel.
I picked it up Friday and got it home to discover a leak around the oil pan, the service guy came out Saturday morning and said they'd have to pull th e pan and put new silicone around it (according to him they don't use gaskets there any longer). I was a little disappointed, but it's a SLOW leak, a few drops over the entire weekend. I'll take it to them this morning. They'll make it right, I'm not worried.

FINALLY THE QUESTION: I saved the 500 bucks and got the pinned on bucket, but the quick detach looks bigger to me. I'll sure wish I had spent the extra money if it is. I've read so much that I can't really remember where I found some of the specs I read, but I'm thinking that it listed the bucket size as 60" and the quick detach bucket as 66"...but maybe that's only on the bigger models (3301 etc...)
I don't need a quick detach bucket, but I would have liked the extra capacity if the QD bucket is in fact 6" wider.
Thanks all.

:D
Welcome to the OTT forum OIC. We are glad that you joined.

I would not give up my QA bucket for anything. I use my pallet forks a lot more than I ever imagined that I would. I even built a platform that I use on my forks to do work up higher.

Re: Introduction and 525 loader question

My 2501 had the QA system on it, but had the smaller bucket like you have. For $100 I opted for the 66", and glad I did. Since I have a few other attachments for the loader, I really wanted the QA system, and I'm so happy I did. Takes me like 15 seconds to swap out the dirt bucket for the snow pusher that is 72" wide. Also same for the pallet forks. I can't see not having the QA system, as it is well worth the $500 extra clams.

Re: Introduction and 525 loader question

My wife put the kibosh on that idea around here. I even offered to wear a harness and tie in. If you think about it I had to listen to her...
Yes, you always have to listen to the little lady. Mine wanted me to get up there and do what she wanted done, so that meant I had to do it.

Re: Introduction and 525 loader question

I think you can get either bucket (60" or 66"). Just need to specify which.

You can only get the 60" in a pin on and a 66" in a SSQA. ;)

Kinda what I was thinking, too late now I reckon. I did pick the tractor up from my dealer and they had removed/re-sealed the oil pan. It's not leaking now, but it looks like a third grader gooped the sealer on. I'm pretty much not too happy with that, but I reckon that's what warranty is for..... if it leaks again, they can fix it again.
