I've got a late 70's-early 80's Honda FR500 tiller with the factory tires on it. Those tires are getting a little long in the tooth and are dry rotting. I've found wheelbarrow tires in that size, but nothing with substantial lugs on it. I'd like R1's, but a snowblower tire should work fine too. Partstree is out, and alibaba has a minimum order quantity of 30.

I did a quick search and found OEM part #42751-723-751 - HONDA POWER EQUIPMENT Parts

Wow....VERY proud of them at $75 or $85!

I agree 100% R1 is way to go, but I'm drawing a blank on another common option besides wheelbarrow....

They seem to be more common abroad as alibaba and global sourcing have them, but their minimum order quantities are off putting. I may end up measuring the shaft and seeing if I can get a similarly sized 6" rim and tire combo from a junk tiller or snow blower. I'd rather not because it has cast iron wheel weights that wouldn't fit if I went that route.

Best option yet, but they aren't R1's.

Anyone ever put in a boot that lined the whole tire? I don't put enough air in them to register on the gage. The side walls used to be stiff enough to support the tiller with no air pressure. Not sure I could get them off and on again in one piece. What would you use for boot material? An old inner tube?

I'll probably see if I can find a set of snowblower wheels with 6" rims on them that fit my axles. I'll lose the wheel weights if I go that route, but the frame has a square section in front that I can put a square shaft into and hang some weight from that. Some of the snowblower tires have some nice big lugs on them that would probably stand in just fine for R1's.
