How do you deal with snow?

Tried out the box blade yesterday to clean up a couple inches and it worked pretty well. Faster than the wheeler but a foot and a half more of blade probably helped.

Back blade 6 ft Servis spun around backward.
Front bucket with tooth bar on but really really careful.

14+ inches in Columbia CT! Up to my dog's shoulders (sorry - she's not photogenic) and for reference most of the way up 35" tires on my Jeep!
Here's how I deal with snow in Central Texas: ( I was going to upload a pic of my plum trees blooming in the front yard but the internet isn't cooperating.... I guess it feels sorry for you fellas up in the snow.)

Forecast does show some promise for Maple season to start in the next week...keeping fingers crossed!
Woodlot we bought next door is ready with 100+ taps. Producer does ~1,000 total.

Out for 10 days?!?!
Ouch....my experience it gets pretty old after 2 or 3....
We were out for 3 days May 2017. Had just filled the freezer with beef. Real hassle babysitting portable generator. Saving grace was didn’t really need much heat or A/C..

Afraid so... Latest update is we are still looking at up to 2 more weeks. Several areas around us might be 3.
We were hit with a very unusual snowstorm. It was virtually a surprise to everyone. Most areas under 1000 FT elevation got 18-24” of very wet snow. It took out hundreds of thousands of trees.
I was fortunate in that I had generators and gas, most people I know weren’t so lucky.

Ouch. Reminds me of the ice storm of '98. Power was out for weeks or even months in some remote areas. Generators were being rounded up and donated; sent by truckloads in from neighbouring areas.

I sure feel for you. We had something similar back in 2004 that stopped everything and even though we had a good size generator it grows old fast. All the best to you my friend, stay safe and warm.
Several years ago we had an early snow. Lots of leaves were still on the trees, and some power lines came down. We only live about a mile out of town and about midway between Harrisburg and Lancaster. Our power went off Saturday AM and wasn't restored till Wednesday. The damaged line we were on only served about 5 properties. The power company used their available resources to make repairs that would each get 100 or so customers up again. We have LPG heat and didn't have to run anything 220V, so the whole house ran off an extension cord. With a little conservation effort we never had over a 12A load. It was great when we could switch back to normal power.
Before we got power here at the camp I had a 2000 watt Honda generator that ran 24-7 when we were here except every second day I would shut it down to change the oil. Even though that little Honda ran pretty quiet when we shut it down it was like ahhhhh, that's what was annoying me. Best think we ever did was get power even with a 10 grand price tag.

And for those wondering how much snow there is in the background, the electric meter is 6 feet off the ground.
So a good 4 1/2 feet of snow and that's not a drift either, it's that deep everywhere.
