I have a BX2370 with a FEL, am I crazy to tow it with a 2004 Tacoma? I read it weighs approximately 1400lbs, not sure of the weight of the FEL

Second question, has anyone used a U-haul trailer to move their tractor. I have a tandem axel flatbed trailer, but it dose not have trailer brakes.

Plus 500lbs for the FEL and 250 lbs for the mower deck if you have them.

If your Tacoma has the V6 it has a 5000 tow rating. I have a 07 with V6 & a 16 ft trailer with brakes on both axles and tow my L3010 regularly, with my BX I hardly know it is on there.

If you use a weight distribution hitch set up, with at least a 1” shank ball, you will be able to utilize the full towing potential of your small truck, a crappy HF ball and hitch, you will be illegally overloaded.
Something to keep in mind. The driver (You) is responsible for you load.

I tow my BX all the time with my 2WD V6 S10 on my single axle trailer with no issue. I WOULD recommend trailer brakes though.

When I bought my b2410 it was about a 300 mile round trip plus traveling in a major urban area. Not something I was comfortable doing with my old home made deck over trailer. I rented a Uhaul 6 x 12 utility trailer. It had 2 axles and surge brakes. It worked great. Towed with a Chevy 1/2 ton 4 x 4 truck.

Thanks, I think this is the route I'm going to go. I'm towing it approx 1200 miles, I was going to install brakes on my trailer (Still will at a later date), but I think the Uhaul will be easer, the only draw back is towing an empty trailer back from N Idaho to central California.

Anyone need something brought from Idaho to California ;)

Uhaul... maybe Penske too, you can rent one way. Cost a little more but less PITA and fuel savings probably make up for it.

If you are renting a trailer from U-Haul, arrange to get it close to where you are picking up your tractor and return it to another facility near your end point. That way you are only paying for a one way trip on the rental. One thing to remember is Brakes on U-Haul trailers are Surge Brakes not electric. They work pretty good, but not the same as electric.
