finally a succesful conclusion to adding power steering to my l295dt . many thanks to this forum and the videos from service dept vic . this addition while a tad pricey is well worth the expense and effort. feel like i am driving a different tractor . anyone out there thinking of pursuing this addition to their tractor , be aware of the following.
1 - be prepared to spend 800 to 1000 bucks depending on how much you can do yourself or howw cheaply you can find someone willing to do it . the local kubota dealership looked at me like i had 3 heads when i told them what i planned .
2 - make sure you have all the instructions and imformation before you start
3 - the cylinder can not be tied in with anything else . it must have its own supply and return . i initially tied mine into my loader and when i turned the steering wheel the loader went up and down and when i toggled the loader the steering cylinder activated . thanks to service dept vic i was able to cut the high pressure line and move my loader sypply lines . make sure if you call a supply house about fittings for this line to let them know its metric .
4 - if you are dealing with an older tractor be prepared for the inevitable of something else causing problems ( busted loader lines , broken fittings ect )
all in all as i said before it is well worth the time and expense even if i did consider taking a match to it in the process lol . i would be happy to share any pics or tips to any yhat need it
