Hi,
I have a line on a B7500 HST, 21 HP 3 cylinder diesel, 16 HP PTO, that has just 130 hours on it, stored inside, includes a LA272 bucket and a back blade. They want $7600 for it. Its in very good to excellent shape, well taken care of and comes with all manuals. I believe this is a good deal and would like some feedback on it.
My main reason for buying it is to help flatten my yard. I plan on using it to disk up then rototiller my yard which is mostly clay, will the 16 HP PTO be enough?
Also, what should I add to this clay yard to get better soil?
Thank you for any and all input.
Troy

Due to the difference in our dollars (I'm Canadian) I dare not comment on the deal, but any clay I've worked,a green manure, aka, plant some buckweat and Plow it under, green before its seeds ripen, let it rot then till, will loosen clay, adding sand and peat can help after the green manure

I have seen them selling here with a lot more hours, selling for $8-10k range.

I have B7500 with almost 1000 hrs. Great tractor, starts up fast. I maintain 6 acres and have a King Kutter 4' tiller and does not have a problem handling the tiller. Have 4' brush hog and no problems there either.

Anything with a FEL runs the price up, a tractor with a MMM will too.

I would offer less, even at that price - which seems fair, ALWAYS come into the deal with less, then move slowly up. Somewhere in the middle is always a nice place to be. If you save $200 ...that is money towards another implement.

IF the machine was taken care of and has that FEW hours - it is well worth it!

I would assume you have the disk (probably a 14" single?) and then rototiller too???

IF you do NOT have those , a box blade blade might be the better tool to buy.

Tiller on clay makes for a long day!:D:)

Good to hear - I have an older L175, similar HP (17/15pto) and a brush hog is on the list for spring.

Been using a 48" box blade..in the wet clay it can be a bit much and some front ballast is needed for that, but overall works great.

The post hole auger is easy to run on 15pto, 9", through clay and rocks like a knife through butter.

60" woods deck with OLD dull bent blades works well..looking forward to spring ( for many reasons ) to try the new blades.

thinking of a 5' brush hog..and a tiller.

and that's all the implements. Really. that would be all of them. I promise. :D

They seem to be very similar sized tractors.

I have B7500 with almost 1000 hrs. Great tractor, starts up fast. I maintain 6 acres and have a King Kutter 4' tiller and does not have a problem handling the tiller. Have 4' brush hog and no problems there either.

Everyone likes a bargain, and the price seems very fair. If the person is a friend be gentle on how you try to negotiate for a lower price. You may offend him and lose the friend and the tractor purchase.

I bought it for the $7600, they originally wanted $8000 when I first saw it for sale. Someone beat me to it and bought the tiller separate from the tractor. The tractor was well taken care of, they even did an oil change before I bought it.
Not sure what I can do about my clay, consensus here seems to be a box blade and then a tiller, of which I have neither.....yet. Craigslist looking over the winter I guess.
I've been playing with it a bit, moving dirt, limbs, I did put 5 gallons fresh diesel with Seafoam in it for the winter.

congrats. Sound like you got a VERY good deal.

Seafoam for winter? hmm, that's new to me. Always used power service (911).
