wasnt sure if there was a basic standard for this & have seen lots of different things people are putting in them.

seems like no one in my area uses calcium anymore.

everybody does liquid rubber or methanol?

so what should it cost for my 2601?

local tire guy said he would do both rears for $70 total. (methanol/water)

advice?

Without looking up your tire size...... $70 would be cheap!!!! That ought to be well over 150 lbs per tire.....about 20 gallons each.

I'd do it in heartbeat:D:)

Not sure what you're referring to as "liquid rubber". Methanol is probably referring to windshield washer fluid. Kubota dealer probably uses beet juice, also referred to as RimGuard.

http://www.rimguard.biz/

You can buy -20 windshield washer fluid (in the Spring of the year) for $1 a gallon. Easy to fill yourself. I put 90 gallon in my L4240 this Spring for $90 and couple hours work.

Rimguard, you have to purchase from a distributor. They will not sell to individualy, at least not around here. And distributor charges by the gallon, plus install fee, plus mileage. $3 gal. for the rim guard, $75 to install, $75 mileage going 37 miles!
