Did you download the WSM?
All of this is addressed in it.
Use a piece of scrap wire, strip the ends, disconnect the small wire connection, then jump from the large terminal to the wire lead that goes to the starter.

OK, I did the cable part with the red to the big bolt on the starter, and the other red touching the positive terminal on the battery...nothing. However, when the cable is connected to the battery and touched the frame I had sparks...

Battery to big wire will do probably nothing depending on terminal configuration, it's just replicating what you already have. You need to jump between the big terminal on the starter (the one with the large wire coming from the battery) and the small terminal on the starter. Please ensure chocked wheels, and out of gear, park brake on first.

With the jumper cable hooked as you had it before, test the switch. If it works then that cable needs to be replaced.

As mentioned before, just because you have voltage doesn't mean it can carry the required load, you need to test voltage under load.

I pulled the ignition switch and jumped it with a screwdriver between the battery connection and the starter connection on the back of the ignition....started right up.
The new switch is waiting at the shop for me to pick up tomorrow. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure that will solve the problem.

It turned out to be the ignition switch.
I ordered a new one from my local dealer, put it in, and she sparked right up...

Thanks for update. Glad that fixed her up.
