Stump. At a loss

New to me b26 1k hours. I have taken out 4 stumps so far, easy peasy. This one I have dug twice as deep with no sign of breaking free. There are a couple sizeable boulders in the root ball. Is it just too heavy to pull for the last break away from the ground?
Was thinking of using the hose to remove dirt to lighten. Thoughts?

Divide and conquer. Try cutting it in half from the top down, get it split, then work each half separately. It's got size going for it right now, take that advantage away from it. Don't fight fair! :)

Rent or borrow a bigger piece of equipment perhaps.
Or just keep on digging. Looks like your doing fine so far. May have to cut some of the banks down so you can keep going deeper. Your not having to hand dig it so set back and enjoy your new purchase and move some more dirt :)

Widen the hole and go down further, it's easier to shift soil than attack the stump itself, you might need to axe a few roots as you go, once the soil is not supporting it the stump can be leant over in case you need to chop any tap roots to free it off.
Going well so far.:)

Been there too - seems like the harder you work the more the stump fights you!!!

Take the teeth of the hoe - point them out and away and scrape the bottom of the ball - knock off as much as you can there - scoop the excess out and keep going - there will be a point where that stump will be undercut enough for you to push/pull away.

NOW getting that big sumbeauch out the hole - that will be fun too!!! Need a chain and a slow pull - cut a small cut ramp path for the ball to come out of too!;):)

Is that sand you are digging in? I have washed sand out to expose the roots and then cut. After the roots are all cut you may have to dig a ramp to roll the stump out if too heavy to lift.

I was hoping for FIRE!
I am sure you removed all the refrigerant before you started that fridge on fire. When refrigerant is exposed to flame it emits a very noxious gas that can damage lungs......just saying.

I had a fridge quit and they wouldn't take it with soiled food in it so.......FIRE to the rescue!

So you won't take my old fridge with spoiled food in it, ok

It was awful, 2 turkeys and 3 chickens.

This refrigerator was in a garage and we didn't know it had failed for at least a week.

Nice job Rexey. In the old days honest folks could go the hardware store and buy a few sticks of dynamite, but someone screwed that up on us. So, now we buy Kubotas instead!

Stump was probably one of the most frustrating things i tried with a hoe. Keep in mind that the curl function is probably the most powerful if used to lever the stump. Im convinced its one of the most abusive things done on a hoe.
I park over stump and dig as deep as i can. Point bucket down and push boom down while curling bucket under stump.

It becomes more difficult with big stones in the root ball. Hard to get soil out from among roots. Glad you got it.

If you have the option, don't cut the tree off at ground level. Leave three or four or five feet so you have some leverage when trying to rock it loose. Depends on the size of your equipment.

D2Cat,, I have a question for you,,, Do you have a D2? Does anyone make anything that small any more, and does anybody really use a tracked critter like that around the farm
