How can some companies sell a tractor package, tractor FEL, BB, and rear mower plus a trailer to haul it all. For the same, sometimes lower, price than what you can get the tractor and FEL from a dealer for? Something just don't add up

Got specifics Skeets? :)
What cha talkn bout Willis?:)
I would imagine most places - dealers, still have a markup or a kickback of at least 15%. Somewhere there must be a deal with other pieces of equipment that allows a cut in the price when a lot more is added to the total picture.

If you buy this "x" + "y" + "z" ......it will be 25k, if you only want "x", it will be 24.5k........

Well hokie is was looking for something and came across Kubota package deals. Several dealers down south MS and Al I think. Anyway they had a B2601 FEL BB and rear mounted mower plus an 18 foot trailer for like 20K, so just for shyts and giggle I went to build my Kubota, and priced out the B2601 with the FEL loader, as the BB and read mower were some off brand, and just the tractor and FEL worked out to like 18.5 if I recall right. And that made me wonder. I know we have a couple dealers that visit here so i was hoping to see if this is some kind of scam or what. If not then theres a hell of a mark up some place

Heres one I was looking at

A lot of dealers down here are bundling tractors, trailers, cutters, box blades, etc., at a very good price. I'm not sure how they do it either. I see several in the Tractorhouse magazine.

This dealer offers them all the time.

My biggest complaint about new tractors is there are no resources to check the actual invoice price. For autos there are many online resources to check invoice prices. Not so for new tractors.

A thought that relates to our business model here at work.

We sale to the nuclear industry and have a huge mark-up as high as 700% but low volumes.

We have fast moving less than 10% mark-up on some products but sale millions of them.

The take away, we count on moving a lot of the low mark-up products to show a profit and higher marked-up products know we want sale as many but make a lot.

The dealers I'm sure are getting price breaks from the mfr's of the equipment and may be counting on making less but moving more product while others are counting on more mark-up and moving less machines.

In the end both make money just 2 different approaches business models.

Here, the local dealer has some really good package deals on tractors. Trailer, BB, fel, and a second implement usually for really good prices. Go to the dealer in little Rock and they can't come close. I think part of it has to do with the dealers overhead.

Conway is cheap!!!! Property taxes, rent, utilities, ect...... are really cheap. Go down the road 30 miles to Little Rock, and those same numbers quadruple. Also the dealers in Little Rock are on large lots on prime real-estate on the interstate, and handle the construction equipment as well. So franchise dues are more then our local dealer.

Our local dealers been in the same location since Reagan was president, owns the property and has a 1 1/2 acre lot that includes the building that there equipment is crammed into.

It's the same with cars and trucks as well. When I was shopping for a new truck, the dealers in Little Rock couldn't touch the prices in Conway.

And I think many, especially smaller town dealers, use the idea to sell as many units as possible, even with a low profit margin....knowing parts and service become the support structure of their operation. And more often then not, folks go back to the original dealer of help.

Looking at what you have posted and what others have posted......that seems to be a hellva deal!!!!

NOW......as an out of state person, subject to tax? anything that we are not seeing in these deals? Here in ol VA - there is a 5.3% tax, shoot that adds another grand to the situation! I could drive a long way for a 1000 bucks!!!

aint nuttin dumb about your question - seems almost too good to be true!

After I bought My L2501 I saw some packages that seem like a lot better deal until I got until I looked closer and saw that the package didn't have the QR loader bucket and the wheel were the cheaper ones and the tires were the cheap ones and it wasn't the same transmission and didn't have the grill guard.
