So I mowed for the first time with my "new to me" BX2360 at our new house. The prior owner left the FEL on so I removed it to mow.

Now I can't get the hoses back on. The FEL did sit in the sun on my driveway all afternoon while I mowed, so I'm guessing there's some pressure in the hoses now but I cannot figure out how to relieve it.

Can someone help? Thanks.

Where you connect the hydraulics, take a rag to cover it and there is like a pin in there. You probably need to tap it with a small punch, that should relieve the pressure. Then you will be able to reconnect. I learned that way too. When I first disconnected mine. There is a lot of pressure in there so be careful and make sure you cover it with rag. Wear eyeglasses too.

As previously stated make sure you cover the fitting with a suitable rag to contain the oil spray. Safety googles and leather gloves would also be advisable, there could be considerable pressure built up. DO NOT use a steal punch or screwdriver. My preferred punch would be a hardwood dowel or a brass punch. You do not want to create a burr or damage the fitting.

My dealer told me in there experience that moving the FEL control to all positions multiple times after turning the tractor off works most of the time.

This is the same problem experienced on all the old Fisher hydraulic snow plows, always carried a brass punch, hardwood block and a large hammer, and in cold weather a propane torch to thaw the check balls in the female coupler.

Had the same problem a couple of days ago, the pressure buildup was on the loader side. Had to push really hard on the pin inside the female coupler . Like others have said protect yourself from the spray

If it heated up during the day try it at night when it has cooled down.

^ That. ^

And if that does not work, slowly loosen the coupler fitting located at the end of the hose. Banging around inside the fittings will work, it's just not the best idea. Potentially hard on the fittings and not real safe for you. Make sure the tractor is off and not storing any pressure before you begin.

If you forsee a similar situation in the future try tarping your FEL to avoid direct sunlight on the lines, or plan on dropping the FEL in a shed, garage or shady spot. I have a BX23S with the single lever flat connect manifold and had the same issue.

Just a quick update here. I'm happy to report that simply letting the FEL sit in the garage in the cool evening fixed my issue. Went out this morning and the lines popped right back on without having to fuss with the nipple or anything.

I will take it off in the detached garage from now on and leave it there when not in use.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies and tips!

Take two wrenches and just "crack" one of the threads behind the quick-connect connector. Do both connectors to be sure. Just a bit of pressure relief will remove all the built up pressure in the line. Simply re-tighten after. You may not even see much hydraulic oil come out...
