i have a 1998 L2350 and wouldlike to add water temp gauge to it does anybody now howto do this

Depending on your housing, there may be room to drill and tap a thread into the thermostat housing where the flat area near the little return pipe as pictured

They also make temp gauge kits with probes that slip under the hose, but they are not my preferred option. There are also kits that bolt a sensor under the thermostat housing bolt, search ebay for them.

It's most likely 1/8 BSPT, very common in temp sending units.
