Diesel - to much summer in the middel of winter

HoHoHo,

I was planing to pull my wife and child on a sled behind my Kuno, but the engine didn't want to rev up or even died many times.

No Fun, But Work...

I got some winter-diesel from the gas station and started the service at the tank. Sucking the summer out.

In the meanwhile I checked the fuel-filter:

I heated the Filter up and it showed, it would be better to replace it. To dirty.

At the end I changed the fuel and I filled also the glas of the filter, to be sure that the additives will mix the rest of fuel in the lines.

Just wanted to show you all, how it looks like, if you haven't seen it yet...

And Kuno is now strong as ever! Yeah!!

Looks like you got a bunch of water. I would get fuel somewhere else next time and put some Power Service to help clean up your fuel system. You will probably have to change the filter a time or two to get the water out of your tank. Try to keep your fuel tank full on the tractor to eliminate any condensation in your fuel tank. you think it's water? But when I used my heatgun to melt it, it smell's like paraffin, like a candle. And it looks like wax after it dropped down and cool again.

It didn't look like water at all...

Here in germany they use different mixtures for the Diesel regarding the season.

Time Cold Filter Plugging Point
15.04 - 01.10. 0 °C
01.10. - 16.11. -10 °C
16.11. - 01.03. -20 °C
01.03. - 15.04. -10 °C

I think there was still the summer typ (0°C) in the tank.

If you have something like Power Service. It should disperse the water It will also make summer fuel useable to where it won't jell up. You could mix NO. 1 Diesel which is Kerosene to your fuel it will help. I think the winter mixture we just bought is like a 60/40 mixture. 60percent diesel 40percent kerosene. You will have to use some kind of a fuel additive to get the mess out of your tank. Good Luck

Thanks for your replay's. But as I have written at the top, it is allready fixed!!!

I have used Kuno in the meanwhile some hours to push the snow around and there is no problem with the diesel anymore. What I did, was sucking out the summer-Diesel, filling in fresh winter-Diesel, changed the fuelfilter and also filled up the glass of the filter. That helped Kuno.
