I am feeling alot of movement in my front axle. I hear it clunking. I saw a bolt with a lock nut in front of where the axle pivots. Is this where you adjust the play out of it. It is a two wheel drive. Tractor has 43 hrs on it.

I tightened the bolt with locknut in front of front axle and it still has alot of play in the front axle. Any suggestions.

When you say play, do you mean with the front end jacked up you can move the whole axle front to back? or one side forward one side backwards?
And have you greased it?

Movement was back and forth, not up and down. I went back and tightened it some more and got the play out. I had to turn it about 15 turns in.

Glad you got it!

Sorry - don't know your tractor, but is that a castle nut?

If so, did it have a cotter pin in it to secure it?

If it is a castle, definitely should have a cotter pin in it.

Just wondering if it lacked the pin, and worked loose.

It's a bolt with a lock nut. 15 turns in to get the play out is kind of alarming. I will be letting the dealer know about it.
