Too early to take snowblower off?

Probably more to my friends in the northeast.

I've got a bunch of dirt work to do. With the snowblower on, I really can't do much else with the tractor.

Never pulled the snowblower off this early, but damn, looking at the extended forecast, I feel like I could be doing other things...

I will have just the box blade on, no loader yet. I can push/pull some snow over my stone driveway with that.

Way too early? We had 74 degrees the other day.

I think your tempting fate, but I get it. 66 tomorrow with winds and rain. We dip back into mid 30s for the weekend then low 50s next week.

I want to knock down cab and trade her in, but Im hoping rebates improve April 1st... Not pushing any snow without that cab!

I don't think its that big of a deal to switch back and forth between the blower and fel on a BX. During the first warm up and rain back in January, I had to put on the fel and use the piranha bar to scratch up the ice on the hill. I knew within a week I would be back to plowing snow. The biggest hassle is having a place to park the blower while off, normal storage is the same place as the fel. Luckily I have enough room in the garage in front of the wife car for the blower. Its really nice taking the blower off and on in the garage anyway since I keep it at 50F and I can wait until all the ice melts of the tractor and blower.

Damnit Man .....there you go again! Try to increase the membership of the KTA (Kubota tractor anonymous) club!!!! Ok - it's ok, we have lots of seat still left!

O- and yes I agree with D2Cat, the hell with changing stuff out, just get another machine!!!

Nope, snow is not done for the year. Not prepping the tractor for summer yet but I will be putting the chains on the motorcycle tomorrow.

Screwiest darn weather I've ever seen! First time I've seen the top half of the lower peninsula and the UP with a winter storm advisory and the lower half with a severe T storm watches/warning and even a tornado warning. We're halfway between, 60F at the moment with Tstorms and snow tomorrow. Rumor has it that the biggest single snow fall in Lansing happened in March, so no I'm not taking the snowblower off yet.

You might want to wait another day or two at least. Yesterday it was 50F and we got 3/4" of rain through last night. Forecast today is change to snow and 6" by tomorrow. Our weather usually finds you about a day later.

I took mine off the BX last weekend while it was warm. Greased it all up and stored for spring. Worst case it takes me 30 min to switch it back over. Although I think we are out of the woods.

I tilled two gardens yesterday (I think it's way too early, but he asked, I did). Got caught in a rain storm on the way back, didn't freeze to death. Weird weather.

MUCH too early to take the snowblower off!! My rule is that the blower goes on before Halloween and stays there until at least after Easter, sometimes longer.

Yea Ray, that's the bigger issue. It's not that it's too early to take the blower off it's that it's too early to be productive. Mud season is in full swing here in NH and it's ugly. I would do more damage than fixing even on my little machine if I had the loader on.

Mine is staying in snow trim till late April. We have had 12 inch or more storms as late as May here. Usually cant see my whole lawn till after memorial day.

We've gotten at least one or two blizzards in March that I recall - the one in 1993 was a big one.

I will still have the box blade - long top link and I could pull around some snow pretty quick.....I think......

Really don't want the FEL on just yet, and I've got a BxPanded UnderArmor being delivered Friday.

With a stone driveway this time of year, I don't do much with snow unless we get 3+"

took my snowblower off, I stored the blade with quick hitch under deck just in casebeen in the 50-60s here supposed to get in the 30-40's this weekend

I was able to remove the blower but keep the quick hitch attached along with the mid PTO connection. My loader and tractor was on a bit of hard snow and it was a bit difficult but I was able to get the loader on. The problem is the loader stabilizer legs that fold up and down. The are right in the way of the quick hitch. You need to modify how you connect the loader, but once on you can use the loader freely.
