Maybe not a good idea

Had a section of old fence that I decided to remove. Some poles were wood, the others were metal. The wood I just pushed over. The metal poles had these notches in them so I decided I would try to hook the bucket on them and pull them out. Did one and it worked pretty good. Tried the next one, and the rear of the tractor raised up pretty high. Needless to say that got my attention, and I went back to pushing on the poles.

Put some counterweight on the 3 point. You could probably use you box blade if nothing else. Put some planks on the top of the box blade and add some extra weight cement blocks, sand bags, whatever... Not sure what your tractor is rated for on the 3 point probably 800# or more.

When I was a kid we did not have a FEL for quite a while. We use the 3pt and a chain to pull posts. Worked like a charm, of course I was operating the chain.

Try each post carefully. If it comes out--OK. If it doesn't, get your t-post driver and drive it in a couple inches deeper. Then it will most likely pull easily.

Couple ways,chain and lift a little and wait. Drive ahead a touch and they should go. Lift ,wait repeat.

Good idea. I have pulled dozens of T Posts. Don't know why it never occurred to me to drive them in further to break the ground seal. I guess you are never too old to learn. Thanks for the idea.

If you have a draw bar for your 3 point arms, wrap a chain around the post at the ground level. Back up to the post and wrap the chain around your 3pt drawbar. Up comes the post!

A "T" post is only in the ground about 17" typically. If you don't have a drawbar as described above, just sling a chain around the post at ground level, pull up to the post and attach the chain to a hook on your loader bucket. Pull gently, if the post does not come up, go forward a few inches, then back. Try pulling up again.

On a "T" post you don't have to hook the chain at the post. Just wrap the post 4 or 5 times and lay the chain over it's self. It will snag on the bars and lock in place.

We wrap a chain around the bottom of the t post and then lay the chain over an old tire that will hold air, that is right up against the post. Hook the chain to your draw bar and pull. The tire will allow the chain to pull straight up on the post and should give you leverage to pull it out. The air in the tire gives a little cushion so that the chain hopefully doesn't break. We pulled an old cb antenna tower out of the ground like this and it was in the ground at least 6', probably more.
