ok you guys have been telling me that since my wife told me to "get a bigger tractor".. that i should take her up on it..

got the taxes done & out of the way. :D so now im seeing if its doable.

whats the going OTD for a 2601 HST 4wd with a FEL?

anybody got some good input?

got 2 dealers in close range who have them on the lot..

dealer A is $17,700 in Ohio

dealer B is $17,500 in Wva

taxes are higher in OH... but ive also not factored in any wiggle room, rebates or discounts.

as always .... thanks for your input!

I bought my 2601 in October here in IN. Got the QA fel and 60" box blade, tires loaded with washer fluid and delivered for $16,500. no tax. Dealer gave me choice of turf or industrial tires for same price. I took the turfs and he gave me 60 days to see if I liked them, which I do.
I did get some rebates and incentives.
On a side note a second dealer 20 miles in the opposite direction ask me 20k for same setup. When I told him how much higher he was than first dealer he said oh, there is a $500 rebate I forgot about, he was still 3k more than the dealer I bought from.

Go on the Kubota site and "build" the machine you want. The suggested list prices are there.
Then go to "tractorhouse.com" and look for that tractor with the same (or very close) attachments. Use those two places go figure out what you should be paying. Usually you can get a tractor from any dealer for 15% to 20% less than the mfg. price.
And $18,500 is just about the suggested list price for that machine. You should easily get it under $17K if not closer to $16K.

Scottly: that sounds like a nice price & i'll try to shoot for that range. :D

MIssouri: YES i did go build it at kubota.. got same thing you did.. but wasnt sure how much the MSRP was vs what they go for...

2 local dealers had pretty similar prices... just thought that was a little high.

Look into the L2501 also, we were looking at the 2601, and for the minimal price difference, the size, weight and capacities of the L series made a lot more sense.

My local dealer in Western Washington was $17,400 for B2601 with FEL and a fiberglass canopy and short-distance delivery. This was before tax. It felt like a reasonable deal at the time last December. They were also going to pick up and return the unit after a backordered block heater came in. I ended up installing the heater myself. I'll use that free pickup/delivery later at the 50hr servicing.
