My "new to me" B7300 turns 20 this month. I'd like to think I looked better at 20 than my Kubota but maybe not.

As I work on the things I think need help, I try to do a decent job. But complete refurbishment isn't going to happen. This will be a working Kubota, not a garage queen.

Fixing the flood and spot lights attached to the ROP turned into replace switches, fuse link, wiring, conduit, more switches, and cleaning and dressing everything including the battery to the lights and all in-between. Even the ground strap was corroded and needed to be cleaned up.

The ROP is an in-between. I removed it, cleaned it up drilled two holes under the top of the bar and two in the inside near the buckle, (each side). I'll be running the new wiring inside the bar not taped to the outside of the bar.

So the color choice.... someone welded two brackets to the top of the bar, (for the lights I am working on). The weld job isn't bad but they sprayed some reddish primer on the brackets and bar and considered the job done. I've cleaned the bar, and sprayed it with primer. Color is next.

It was a dark blu-gray color, I'll go with black or Kubota orange. I'm leaning toward orange.

This will not be a show tractor. What color would you paint it?

I just looked at 60 or 70 pictures of Kubota tractors of varying sizes. It seems no Kubota tractor has ever, since 2000BC, had anything but a dark gray or black roll bar. Humph.

If it is to be orange, consider the same color as deer hunting irredescence so that it stands out as you go into a low door and it warns you about that contact coming next.

I've found the rattle can Chevy Engine orange close to the newer Kubota Orange II color, but might not match your tractor hood/fenders well.

But maybe you could work some flames into it.....:p:p

That'd be cool in any color!!:D

We need to see some pictures - ask skeets would say - we all love tractor porn!

Why would you want the ROPS orange?
Rustoleum make an industrial gray that is close to kubota Blue and would look much better than orange. ;)

I like the orange but if you go that way don't cut corners on the paint. Go to the dealer and buy a can of real Kubota paint. You'll be thankful down the road when it still looks good instead of fading out or changing colors.

Ditto.. Dupli-Color's DE1620 is a perfect match on my BX2230.. You can't see any difference in color at the blend lines where I've painted a couple of mods on my FEL bucket.

If you paint the rops orange will it match your 20 year old, faded orange tractor. If so it will be ok if not I would paint it grey or black and not have two different shades of orange.

Thank you all for the Orange support. I was going to use Kubota orange (the older shade to match the tractor) but I went with black.

I was thinking, why not orange. Then I saw that I might be the first person in history to paint the ROPS orange. Then I imagined myself having to take it in to the dealer for something I can't fix and hearing the dealer say, "Hey that's no Kubota; what happened to the roll bar? Do you want us to fix that too?"

LOL

I went with black. The DW said, that's no fun and suggested I was a coward. ;-)

I'll post a pic as soon as I get it back together. Then you'll get to see the air seat the previous owner installed. It's yellow. I would have chosen black but the yellow doesn't look bad, it just looks JD. There is nothing wrong with the yellow seat and at $150 for a replacement, I can live with it for a while.

Meanwhile here it is having just arrived at its new home in Nov 2016.

I used home depot orange from home depot when i resprayed my tractor. However i just used it for panels, all steel is a dark blue/grey from the factory. I've resprayed a bit of it to make it look nice in a few places. it's nice and bright though.
