After replacing hydraulic hoses on the loader. I decided it'd be a good time to do a complete HST oil change.

I drained the tranny, replaced the filter. Then added 2.5gal of SuperUDT ( book calls for 2.7gal )

Pulled out dipstick. To my surprise ***128563; It was bone dry.

Am I missing something here? Or just losing my mind?

Josh - on my BX2360 - there is ~1 quart difference between bottom of dipstick and normal.

Give it a half a quart, and see if you get close.

Also, after getting it full, might jiggle around, lose some air, then need another pint or so.

Add that quart or so .....and then start it and move all cylinders up - down - all around.....might act funny for a short time (getting air out of the new hoses) but after a short time will bleed the air out as fluid pushes it out.;):)

Ok I'm an idiot. I'm working with gallons not quarts

I put in 2.5gal, the books calls for 2.7gal. That's a full quart difference.

No wonder it wasn't on the dipstick yet.

Simple mistake:)

I do calibration and first article inspections for my company. All I do is measure all day, that's what I do.......

Measuring parts one day and could not believe they were that far out of spec, I racked my brain......I finally realized I had my vision system setup in metric and not English.

Have a great day.
