My tractor has the digital display and has never got past the 2nd digital read out block. I.e. doesn't seem to operate in the middle part of the temp gauge. This was the case even in the summer.

Reservoir was a touch low when I bought, so I topped off....has not consumed any since. Bought tractor with 100 hrs, and have put 50 on it in last 6mo.

Now that winter has arrived, is that anything to be concerned about?

I've been reading the manual and says should flush coolant system and put cleaner in every 2 years.

Any recommendations on flushing / cleaner products?

Thanks guys.

I have the same machine - and only ONE time have I seen it hit three bars! IT was hot as hell and humid to boot.

Most of the time - it gets to two bars and stays. I would not worry about it getting any hotter, diesels dont run hot to begin with - and the design allows for good cooling.

AS for "flushing" - get the correct stuff and replace - I would not think you would need to do it anytime soon.:)

My BX2230 always indicates in the lower 1/4 scale of the analog gauge and also was concerned if the engine was running too cold..

Put a thermometer in the radiator and it's within spec.. I'd have to look up the numbers but the 2230 engine has a lower normal running temperature spec for water temp than expected..

Perhaps the BX25D engine is the same..

I have the 2370 and same situation. 2 bars (but I didn't own it over the summer, that might change) and my reservoir wasn't filled even to the L mark.

I just drained the coolant so I could install a block heater, I'll fill it back up to where the manual says it should be.

On year 2 while installing my block heater, I flushed mine with straight water from my dehumidifier that I saved. Went to dealer to get antifreeze and they sold me Orielly's green antifreeze.
So year 4 I decided to switch to Zerex G5. I thought if it was good enough for my Dodge diesel, which I switched too after a water pump install, it should be good enough for the Kubota. One less kind of antifreeze sitting around.
I thought it was easier to disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator then the drain plug that was harder to get too.

Thanks guys for all the responses! I love this forum. :)

Got a bunch of responses with exactly what I was concerned with in a few hrs.

I'm a neophyte to diesels, so I'm trying to learn up on what to watch out for and be concerned with.

Right now I'm keeping my machine in a heated garage with the cars, but might store in my shed down the road (which will have electric, but no heat).

I might wait on the flush and just put a block heater in it late next summer/early fall.
