I have a new BX25D with 4.5 hours on it. It is currently stored outside, like the new ones at the dealer. Yesterday I noticed an odd intermittent flash of the four-ways with the key out of the ignition. It continued for several hours. I used compressed air to blow out the light switch and did extract a bit of moisture.

While the intermittent flash has apparently stopped, I noticed that the turn signals operate as the manual indicates they should if the fourways are on. In other words, a right turn means the left stays on and the right flashes. Left turn means right stays on and left flashes.

Did I miss this before, or is this a malfunction? I went as far as unplugging the switch and spraying it with WD-40, then blowing it out again.

My B-2650 flashes the turn signals same as yours ,so I would say that is normal as far as the intermittent flashing you had was probably due to some moisture that you took care of with the compressed air.

So much for the better mouse trap.
Its A shame that a machine built to work outdoors cant deal with a little moisture.
After all the years of research and development the simplest electrical components fail in such a short time.

It sounds to me like your battery is low. Mine acted similar to what you describe last year. I did not run my machine for about a month and when I went out to the garage one day, my lights were flashing for no apparent reason. I started it and ran it for about an hour and all was well again. Since I keep it in the garage, I cannot blame it on moisture. I have to assume that it was just because the battery was low.

I'll keep that point in mind. May put a battery tender on it. Meanwhile, I've managed to squeeze it into the garage and I'll assume my turn signals are working as designed.

My turn signals work that way whether the hazard lights are on or not. But does it really matter? Would there be a need for your turn signal to be on when you wouldn't already have the hazard lights on?

It appears as thought the owners manual is incorrect on this. It would possibly make sense on bigger tractors with more speed capability, but you're right, there is no reason to be on the road without the hazard lights on!

My BX2360 does something similar. The other day I found the left turn signal lamp on steady, with nothing else on. I unplugged the connector on the multi function switch, and the light stayed on, so it wasn't the switch. Guessing it was the flasher unit. In fact, when I started messing with the flasher unit's connector, the light went out. This happened right after I put a new battery in, so it wasn't caused by low voltage. Part of the multi function switch is bad (the emergency flasher switch), so I plan to change it out, and will probably go ahead and swap out the flasher unit for good measure. The only other thing it could be is some weird short in the wiring or one of the connectors, since there aren't any other active components in the circuit.
