Tyres for B6100 or B7100 4x4 with grip

I have been looking for a replacement set of tyres for my 6100 for ages and have a solution that works. I wanted wide tyres that would not cut up the grass but also wanted them to grip the snow and mud as I use a FEL.

So as I have seen others asking the same questions on Orange I thought I would pass this on.

The problem is the interactual ratio, get it wrong and its going to cost you! We know what Rolling Circumference (RC) we need and the gear ratio (1.464) but can we find front and rear tyres that work? No! You get a good Agri rear but have to go turf on the front.

Well I now have a set on my tractor that meets all the requirements above. They are as follows:
Rear - 29 x 12.50 x 15 (RC = 88 inch @ 15psi) Carlisle TRU POWER
Front - 20 x 8 x 10 (RC = 62 inch @ 25psi) Kenda K378

62 x 1.464 = 90.768 divided by 88 = 1.0314 minus 1 x 100 = 3.14 %

well within the 0-5% lead reccomended by Kubota

Both front and rears have Agri tread pattern and grip very well, but are wide so do not sink. Best of all is they look fantastic.

those are good looking tires. Look like they'd dig in pretty good without being so aggressive as to strain the tractor

Are these tires still working out for you. Can they hold the weight of your FEL and anything you put in it?

The tires look really good. I'm wondering if you couldn't find some Kenda tires for the rear that have the same tread. Ag tires seem to be available for the rear of these tractors.

I put this setup on my B7100 HST about 2 months ago, and they work great!

I also put some new hubs in while I was there.

$800 for all 4 tires and two new hubs.

I had to order them. I got the rears from tireeasy.com and the fronts of ebay.

I know this is an old thread but, I'm assuming this combo will work on the wheels I currently have? I'm going to need tires SOON and want to loose the turf and go with an ag type, this seems like it would be great if I don't have to buy new wheels.

Assuming that your B6100 has the same rims as my B7100, they will work. I converted mine to the same tires, using the rims that I had. BUT, there was a post here recently about switching tires, and the information linked indicated that the gearing on the 6100 is different than the 7100, so the size ratio between front and rear on the 6100 may be different. If it were me, and I could be wrong- take it for what it's worth, not a recommendation- I would get the tires, and then adjust air pressure in the fronts until there was no binding in 4WD. I did that on my tractor (the front tires listed at the beginning of this post are slightly smaller than the stock turfs), and after adjusting, I haven't had any binding issues on my tractor. Again, take that for what it's worth.

Thanks for the reply/info hodge. The tires on my 6100 at the moment are 29x12x15 rear & 20.5x8.0-10 front. Those sizes don't match to the manual so it may be out of whack already, I don't know. When you mention 'binding' is this while driving in a straight line?

With an extreme variance in rotation between the front and rear tires, it can bind up going straight. It is the same, but different, as the tractor binds up when in 4WD and turning tight turns (under normal circumstances). Some binding is normal, just as in any other 4WD. but, that relieves itself as you turn, back up, tires slip, etc. Straight forward binding will do damage, because it never gets relieved, and the further you go, the tighter it gets. Like winding up a spring, to the point that it breaks. That will depend on how wide the variation is, surface being driven on, load, speed, etc.

The tires on my 6100 at the moment are 29x12x15 rear & 20.5x8.0-10 front.

Those are the stock / right size turf tires for that tractor.

I will try and dig up the other thread that has the right size tires needed, as the tires this thread lists will NOT work on a B6100, they are the wrong ratio.

The original poster might have gotten lucky or more likely if you look at his profile he states he has a B6001 which did not come originally with the same tires as the b6100.
He also states the tire sizes as the tire sizes as a b7100 and not a B6100.

I have been looking for months and have several threads on here with different questions. So far I have not found a set of Ag rims and tires for my B6100D. Curiously, I'm running the same tires you are 23-8.5-12 front and 11-15 LT rears. It came like that from the previous owner and seems to work fine, but I know I won't be able to pull the plow or tiller with turf tires. Spring is coming so I'm really hoping to find something soon.

A few days ago I found 7-16 Ag tires online (Carlisle's I think). If I can get those shipped to me for less than a fortune (fuel price is down but shipping is wayyyy up) and a set of 5.5-16 implement rims, that would be the stock size for the rear. I think the front will be easier to find. Let me know how you get on.

Does anyone here know the gear ratio for the B6100D?
