I am looking at selling my B7100 HST with loader and buying a bigger tractor between 25 hp and 30 hp. My B7100 has been one tough SOB, and I want to replace it with something just a tough but bigger.

Any idea on what Kubota model number would be a good replacement? I like the loader joystick close to the seat like the 2650's have. I would like to buy a used one less than $15,000.

Thanks

Thats a loaded question. I found B2650s for 16,500 used, from rental fleets. Older B3030 for 12,500 ish. A few B2910. A few B3200, which are awesome machines. All 1000 hrs or less.

I want an L machine 30-35 hp. However not willing to pay the used prices. Likely just going new in late spring...

Do b3200 have emissions equipment on them since they are over 30 hp?
The B3200 do not have emissions. I just bought a 2011 B3200 with the LA504 loader and BH76 backhoe with 78 hours. $16,500. I'm pretty happy with it, just wish the backhoe was a little stronger for digging stumps, but it gets them done. This ash tree root was way bigger than the loader, but I was able to dig it out with the backhoe.

What is the smallest 25-30 hp that has the bucket disconnect like a skid loader?

Is it a b3350?

Do they make one without any of the emissions BS?

I went from a B7100 to a B2400 several years ago and it proved to be a very good tractor...traded it recently with 1750 hrs on it for a new B2650...I hope the 2650 is as reliable as my 2400 was!!

Well you said used, so that pretty much means no Tier 4 emissions.

Pretty much anything 35hp and less, pre 2014 has no DPF. The real farm tractors have been dealing with emissions for a bit longer.

Tier 4 means EPA compliant, not necessarily DPF.

Interim Tier 4 usually means no DPF.

The only model that anybody has complained about the DPF is the B3350, which even with its tarnished reputation, your not going to see it cheaper than 20k.

The cutoff for dpf filters in the current crop of Kubotas is more like 27 horse. My L3560 has a dpf filter. The ones closest to the cutoff without the dpf are the B2650 and the L2501. People seem to be happy with both of them.

So I have looked hard at the B2650 and the L2501. The L2501 looks to be a heaver unit and looks like it could handle the abuse I would give it better. When I look at Kubota's site it looks like both these units are running the DPF tier 4 junk. When did they start putting this stuff on the L2501 and the B2650?

Any insight into which unit is better?

Thanks

The B2650 and L2501 are both tier4 compliant, but fall under the horsepower level that requires the dpf.

No sir!! I cant believe how much room there is under the hood of my B2650, much more room than my B2400 had. I would say if you are doing a bunch of FEL work, the L2501 would be a better choice do to heavier built front axle and 600# heavier tractor than the B2650. Amazingly, the B has a 300# 3pt lift advantage on the L??!!

Ok I am pretty set on the L2501 now and when to buy. I can get a new one with loader, 6' rear blade for $17k. When does Kubota run the best deals now, spring, or some other time?

I might be in the market for an upgrade myself since I have been overworking my B7200. The L2501 looks like a great tractor but I need a mid PTO for my front blower.

If your looking for cheap financing, now might be the time. Kubota has 0% for several different term lengths. The Fed is talking about raising the prime rate, so that may affect any future 0% offers...

My tractor was 0% for 60 months. I see the other day in Outdoor Life magazine a Kubota ad. I think it said 80 months or 8 yrs something like that 0%.
