val821714. My local napa has it. My kubota dealer is over an hour away.

I was using backhoe and level dropped. I don't see any leaks. I am going to top the hydraulics with valvoline UDT.
I would prefer SUDT2 but I don't have time to kill running for it. Be nice if NAPA carried kubota parts.

The UDT is not synthetic oil (like the SUDT2) so in my opinion its not a good idea to use it. Valvoline does make a synthetic hydraulic fluid.
but you can easily order the Kubota fluid (or similar product) on-line if you have the time.

sudden drop in fluid level is not normal. I would be looking for the WHY answer. External leak? internal leak pushing the fluid into some area it doesn't belong? Ck all other fluid levels to make sure nothing else is overfull... connecting and disconnecting wet lines will account for some minor loss over a period of time. Your description sounds like 1 gal +???. Let us know what you find.

how low is the dipstick reading? IF still on the stick (sight glass), I would continue to use and order new oil - if NOT on the stick.....well that is another problem entirely.

here is a simple breakdown of the Kubota oils

quoted from Bulldog

"UDT is standard fluid

SUDT is a blend

SUDT2 is synthetic"

I truly see a difference b/w SuDT2 and whatever was there before.......

I try to keep enough hyd fluid on hand to fill the biggest tractor which is my M9000. It takes 22 gallons so I try to have at least a 20 gal reserve.

You never know when a part may fail but not keeping extra fluid on hand is asking for trouble.

22 gallon hyd oil capacity sounds like a LOT of oil for a 92 HP farm tractor. I wonder why Tractordate only shows 13.7 gallon hyd oil capacity for a M9000

Had to break the big book out Tx Jim. You're right, it's been a while since I changed it. Front axle included it takes about 16 gallons. That 22 gal. may have been what my friends 9000 took when the loader was installed.
