Search Call up Box disapears in Seconds

Hey who knows how to stop the search box from disappearing so fast - in about 5 seconds, I can't type into it that fast and now need to type in Word then copy and Paste into it - very frustrating???

Not sure, but some forums you need to have a particular number of post before some functions work. Maybe that's the hold up?

Are you using a tablet to access the search function? If so, when the box opens up, click on the advanced search at the bottom of the box.

It's a quirk with the tablet. Haven't tried the search function on the desk top.

I am having the exact same problem. I am using chrome browser on windows 7 desktop PC. As a work around, I click on "search" then "advanced search" and type in the keywords box whatever I want to search. I has worked this way since the day I joined OTT.

I's doing it for me as well, but when I click on search again, what I've typed is still there, so I keep clicking on it until I've typed in the search.

I have Adblock Plus installed for Google Chrome and the Search function works just fine. I temporarily disabled Adblock Plus and ads started popping up and the Search function started acting like reported, so it appears that the ads are causing the problem. Adblock Plus is a free add-on, but you occasionally have to disable it on some sites to get the popup forms to appear.

I, too, had the same problem until I installed AdBlock Pro (for Chrome) on my Windows 10 Home PC. Works fine after the install.

I am using a desktop with windows 10. Browser is internet explorer (edge) and have no adblocker. Recently installed new anti-virus as well as anti-malware.

Just seems strange that I do not have this problem on other forums that I frequent.
