I have a 2012 L3240HSTC that I want to install a camera system on and I am looking for a switched power wire. I found a plug on rear of the right side interior panel that looks like it would work. It is only hot when switch is on. Does anybody know what this plug may be for? My only guess would be for the compressor of an air ride seat from where it is located. I do not have the work shop manual yet. Any help is appreciated. If someone knows of a better place I would like to know that also. Thanks
I also asked this on TBN, but so far 260 views and no answers.

I'm assuming this is a L3240C model (cabin). There is a plug near the seat that is for the Grammer air ride seat that can be used. IIRC, they had it kind of buried behind the right side of one of the interior panels, seemed like it had some green tape on it. Been a year or two since I've had to mess with a Grand L 40 seat so I'm going off of memory.

There is also the option of running off of the fuse block, similar to the way a 3rd function valve solenoid would be wired.

Thanks lugbolt, that is what I thought it was for. Your memory is pretty good. Although mine does not have green tape, the plug itself is green. I already did the air ride seat conversion without the $900 Grammer price so I will tap into this plug for the cameras. I thought about the fuse block but there were no open spots without using a tap on an existing one.

What's your plan for the camera? I've been thinking about putting one on top of the FEL bucket (using a magnetic mount), with a screen on a swivel mount above the dashboard. Something that would let me see what the front edge of the bucket is doing.

As for power, I figured on using something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LZWAZF...TF8&colid=23YMTTURI4ZKI&coliid=I3HJL6IW859Z2S

and install it below the dashboard. Would be easy to wire up a cigarette lighter connector for the camera and screen, and would also be easy to take the camera off when I'm not using it.

Although the fuse block on my L3400HST is easily accessible, there aren't any "hot but unused" taps, so I figured I'd tap into a switched line somewhere behind the instrument panel.

My plans for the camera is to have a rear one for snow blowing and a front loader mount for the bucket and forks. I experimented with the front one so far, but I am moving that one to the rear and have ordered a second one. First one was a backup camera and I didn't like the lines in it but it will be great for rear. I am going to mount the front one using conduit welded to a plate that will bolt to SSQA and point down to see forks and front of loader bucket. It will articulate with loader curl but be out of the way to avoid damage. Still in the building process and waiting for second camera to arrive. I used the plug I was asking about for power and also installed a switch so I can turn everything off when I don't need it, or in extreme cold conditions to wait until the cab warms up for the monitor.
