Bill, nice clean work. If you load that scoop up with material you WILL have power steering beyond your control.:D
I've got the King Kutter version of that and an L1500. The front wheels start coming off the ground just over half full of dirt, but I don't have a loader on mine and I think my scoop is wider. It doesn't lift high enough for the front to get scary off the ground anyway and if you leave the brakes separated, you can steer with them.

Before I bought my L4600 last summer I used a L3400 in the garden.

Today I had to setup the bedder to match with the L4600. With it being wider and taller everything has to be tweaked, 2 hours later I was able to run 2 rows, more tomorrow.

Tater planting tomorrow night. Family affair with wife and 2 year old daughter.

Picked this up today, a freebie, 20" x 58" water tank,
think it will make a nice "roller" for behind the box blade
after driveway fixin :D

Has two maybe three pin hole leaks, but a quick weld-fix.

Unless I calculated wrong, it is about 18228.57 cubic inches or 78.9 gallons
or 631.20 pounds of water, plus the weight of the tank?
Probably close to 700 pounds said and done

More to come on the build :D

I didn't take any pictures, but I finally bought my own top link for my United Box Blade Model 560 HD. I'd been using my neighbor's spare for the past 9 months, but it was a 16 inch and I could just barely get it to dig in. This one is a 13.5" and I can angle the rippers right into the ground for deep ripping. Super excited!

If you can get away with not welding galvanized... then do it. Nasty poison gasses are released when welding galvanized metal.

Since they are pin holes just put a sheet metal screw in them with an Oring or just silicon on the base of their heads.

Another option is fill them with sand instead of water.

Yep, I know that but there's no getting around doing some welding, I need to check and see what kind of masks I got and also I will have to have a fan blowing the gases in the opposite direction of me.

I thought about possibly using sand, that will get me another 4.25 pounds per gallon roughly.

When welding galvanized iron, the main thing is don't do it in an enclosed area without ventilation. Grind off as much of the coating as you can where you'll be welding.

I would consider filling it with sand. Then there is no concern about getting it drained before winter, 'cause one time and you'll have more welding to do!!

Zinc is not harmful. It will make you ill but its non carcinogenic and pretty much non toxic. The body will eliminate any excess zinc you ingest.
When welding it you create zinc oxide, same stuff people cover themselves with when they dont want sunburn.

I would still ventilate.
If you get flu-like symptoms afterwards, it will pass. If i recall, drinking milk helps with welder's sickness.

Been tired of the 3-Point Draw Bar "Flopping" around so
I got a new 3-Point Receiver Trailer Hitch yesterday,
I have seen a lot of posts on this one for $49.80,

but for an additional $2.20 I went with this one
I liked the extra "webbed support" it had.

Of course it had one major problem I had to fix, and that is done.... NOW IT IS ORANGE

I bough the red one you showed. I had to do some grinding and cutting to make it work with my QH

I bought the same one you did and I like it really well.

Besides the paint I made one other fix.

That vertical box tube is open to the atmosphere (up where the top link connects) but the bottom of that tube is not open. So when it rains you can guess where water is trapped.

I found this one day when I was putting my box blade on and had to take the receiver off. As soon as I unhooked my top link the receiver rotated to the ground and water ran every where.

I drilled a .25" hole in the bottom end of that tube so now water doesn't stay in there and just accumulate over time.

Thursday I picked up what I thought was a model 48 John Deere Tiller.
It turned out to be a model 35, same make, different model,
did not find the S/N Plate until it was home and movable......

Seller wanted $175.00, got it loaded up for $100.00

A bit rough, has two bad bearings, but I will change all three, it's a project :D

So as usual, once an implement is brought home,
it is immediately torn apart, it's just what you do :D

The drive system, chain looks to be a bit stretched

Pair of shot bearings

So Friday got the bad bearings and tines removed.....

.....and everything cleaned up, today I will tackle the last bearing and gearbox. :)

Finished the complete tear down, short of removing all the tines.

I was amazed as to how easy it all came apart, considering all the rust (one snapped bolt).

The gearbox, which turns and sounds great, had NO oil at all, NOT A DROP .
I flushed it up with kerosene, no bits came out ,
but I will need new seals and two new bearings for the tine shaft.
