Snapping/cracking sound when useing bucket

Often when using my front loader scoop to move dirt on my L3301, I get a sharp cracking/snapping sound. The machine has just reached 50 hours. The last time I heard a noise like that the landing gear trunnion on an airplane snapped and the bird went to the ground. So obviously I am concerned. I looked it over and I do not see any cracks or breaks but we didn't see any cracks on the airplane either. Is this noise common "slap" or do I have a real problem?

Often times, gravel/material can get into the areas around the pivot pins, and hang up there. When you curl the bucket up or down, it crunches between the pivot pin, and the "box" around it. Check there first, and be sure pins are greased, too...

That and inspect mounting bolts.could have a loose one. Loader sould be greased every 10 hours, or pins and bushings will wear quickly.

Check the lug nuts on your front wheels. Loose lug nuts and the wheels shifting a little because of it will make that sound, especially when loading your bucket.

I am finding our backhoe BH77 makes a similar sound. I haven't used it more than three hours or so. I can't find anything loose (possibly too tight ? )
I wonder if it didn't get enough grease when it was assembled at the dealer ?
I'll grease it soon enough ...

Grease on all pivots! Bushings and pins are $$$$ to replace, grease is cheap!!!!!!

Also if you have a BH, esp on a newer machine, the rear lug nuts should be checked and retorqued....especially if you drive the machine long distances. The rear lugs wear in, esp with the backhoe hanging off the back and if you don't catch them soon enough they will enlongate the holes and require you to buy a new rim.

Same goes for front rims as BAP said.
