This year I'm trying Fluid Film. After cleaning with a wire brush on an angle grinder, I sprayed the underside liberally and left it sit for a couple days. So far I'm happy with the results. It has less grass stick to it and I've been able to clean what little bit did stick with a garden hose instead of a pressure washer. Last Saturday the grass was very wet when I mowed and there was almost no buildup.

The easiest way for me to clean the deck and apply the FF was to set the deck up and prop it against a tree. A ratchet strap makes sure it can't fall. Great time to remove the blades and sharpen them. It's handy to have them out of the way anyhow.

I've used fluid film, slip plate and a couple of other products. They reduce the amount of grass that attaches to the deck, but it's another cost and time consuming. The best solution is mow when the grass is dry, but then when that isn't an option.... just clean and sprat PAM cooking spray on the underside. It works on my snow shovel!!
