I put a Woods LS-72 loader on my B7100HST last year. It has been very useful here around the farm, especially this past winter with our record-breaking 30" one-day snowfall in Feb.
One drawback I have noticed, is the loader hudraulics seem to put quite a load on the tractor's hydraulic system, even when its not being used. It's to the point where I have to mow in low range, and even ascending a grade in high gear really bogs the motor down.
Yesterday, I tried un-attaching the hydraulic block near the engne where the two lines are that go into hydraulic control valve, and all of the power was back, just like it used to be. I can go up hills and mow in high gear again, no problem.
I also noticed that the transmission seems to get much hotter with the loader controls connected. I shot it with the infrared after running for an hour last week and the trans case was running 190° F !!
After mowing an hour last night with the loader controls unhooked, , I could easily keep my hand on the transmission without getting burned.
The dealer (who has not been very helpful) says this is normal. I wanted to get some other opinions.
Thanks!
