Since my tractor does not have the factory whistle, I installed a temperature gauge and and just today a coolant recovery tank. It was a pretty easy mod. The hardest part was finding a place to put a 2 quart recovery tank. It is a tight squeeze, but it fits!

Do you think it needs a 2 qt. recovery tank?

Could probably use a plastic drink bottle with screw on lid. Make a saddle for it to set in, drill a hole in it for the hose. Take less space.

When I installed one on my B6100 I got it at the salvage yard off of something small. Fit down in front of the injection pump.

Cat,

did you change the cap to allow it to "suck" back the fluid??? OR do you pour it back after you see fluid in the holder?

When I first got mine - the whistle blew once - after that I understood the clean the screen !!!!

I'm guessing a 2 quart tank is way more than I need, but it's the smallest that the local auto parts store had and it really didn't look that big, when I bought it...lol. Once I tried to find a place for it on the tractor, then I realized it was more than I needed. It just fits in that spot. Like a lot of things in life, too big is probably better than too small...

For anyone wanting a reserve tank, and you like bird dogging parts. Check this out. Kubota part # LE601-72400. It's a reserve tank for a Kubota TG1860 gas engine powered mower. The engine is a Kawasaki 18HP water cooled. It's also used in other equipment, like JD.

All the companies who use Kawasaki's engine assign their own part numbers and prices. That's what's called proprietory pricing.

The Kawasaki engine is an FD590V, but any water cooled engine of nearby size will work.
