What are you guys using to carry long guns on your tractor? I'd like to carry an AR15 and a suppressed .22lr on my L3901 (no cab). I prefer to have them stored vertically so the muzzle is not pointed at anything I drive past. In for some ideas...

Can't say that I've ever heard of this. I am surprised that, living in the great state of Maryland, that you could carry either one on a tractor. Is it legal to carry them loaded?

Well of course he do!! What fool would say he had one and not have a stamp for it,,,, silly Hokie :D I was using an easy rider rifle rack out of my old pick up duct taped to the ROPS,, but that got to be a PIA so now it just sits on the right side bungee corded to the front control lever. NOw the M79 is a different story

I'm partial to Kolpin gun boots, you can mount them in any position, and they are sheepskin lined (or some kind of synthetic fur, IDK), and are easy to access, and keep the gun out of dust and dirt.

On my old Allis D-14, I welded up a cross the gas tank rack, that went on, with a coupla wing nuts. Man with the marlin 882 in 22 mag, I was murder on the groundhogs, while bush hogging. I'd wait till the out of balance blades would bring the front end of the tractor up, then just as the descent started, pull the trigger and BAM, dead groundhog! :D:D

I don't know how much land any of you guys have only 5 acres so I carry a 38 SPL on my hip at all times. I have the first chamber loaded with snake shot and the other 4 with +P 140 GN hollow points for the coyotes and the cougar. I have not had to shoot the cougar yet but she seems over-protective of one area on my property. Since I just have 5 acres, a long gun is not really appropriate for my property when on the tractor.

I do shoot a lot rabbits with my .22 off the back porch though. Since I live in an unincorporated area, shooting is legal out where I live. Some of my neighbors shoot the deer right in their back yard during hunting season. There are just way too many deer out here. The city dwelling hunters drive them down from the hills and they end up in our back yards and eat from our garden and fruit trees. They are a damn nuisance but the compensation comes when they are cooked on the grill.

Thanks, kind of expensive but that protects the gun extremely well
